I feel like I should be able to get another 2-3k out of the 5950x, but my knowledge of PBT is non-existent so I either get potato scores or no boot.
Also possible that my 5950x is just a potato chip and can't do what others can

Don't know what you're doing to the poor CPU but they can score 19k+ for the CPU score...

There's dudes on here with 14k for their 5900X

I just basically enabled PBO and set offset for all cores to -15

XMP is horrendous, but mainly because the secondaries and tertiaries are egregious at auto. XMP is basically useless other than just as a set-and-forget if you need to do office work or you have no time to optimize your memory settings/don't know how.

I use XMP to:
1. Gauge what voltage the ICs have been factory-validated at
2. Get an idea of how good RCD/RP scaling is
3. Check if the BIOS/board topology are trash if the data channels error at the screened XMP data rate

XMP with AMD Ryzen do help a lot, but manually overclocking memory a little higher with tighter timings is the key mostly secondary and tertiary timings. PBO works wonders if setup correctly.
