Look into some Gamers Nexus vids re the 2500k & 5600x, they should brush over the overall system power use. IF I recall correctly the TDP is more a measurement of how much heat (Thermal Disipation Property) the CPU gives off & not how much power it pulls, but I could be wrong. The 2500K's TDP is rated at 95W and the 5600X is rated at 65W. I don't know how much 30W will affect my electricity bill, but 65 is whole lot less than 95. So there's that.
Core i5 2500K and Core i7 2600K review (Page 7)
Today we test and review Sandy Bridge, the Intel Core i7-2600K and Intel Core i5-2500K processors. We will pair the 2600K processor with the Intel Desktop Motherboard DP67BG and also run a test with the Intel Core i5-2500K processor on a Intel DH67BL motherboard
