Good Evening

Any idea where i can find a replacement keyboard for an Asus X54C?

Hi Thaw-Tech,

Apologies for the delayed response, unfortunately these cannot be purchased separately.

Kind regards,

Hi,

Why do your motherboards cost more than original purchase price. I have a ASUS TP501U which after 14 months died. I was then quoted what I paid for the whole laptop for just a motherboard.

I don't see how if I always hibernate my laptop, that on this particular occasion it damaged the motherboard so you can't see the drive anymore.

Kind Regards

Brian
@Juzl00king This (high cost) is the same with all companies. THe replacement parts are not manufactured in mass like the full unit, so cost is higher , as is risk on their side, hence cost is higher. If its a SATA hard drive, get a DVD casing that holds the hard drive. Your Asus should have a 2 year warranty. 3 years if bought from Dion Wired / sometimes IC.

IF it's out of warranty, which I doubt, then PM me the s/n and let me see if I can source the part , hopefully at a better rate.

Hi there,

Unfortunately so, we are unable to source these units from our head office separately.

We hope you come right with the eBay route though :)

Kind regards,
ASUS South Africa.

Hey ASUS
I need a replacement for a ASUS ADP 120RH-B laptop charge cable. I know that particular model is EOL but I don't suppose there is some sort of directive as to what you can supply as an alternative.
It was for a 2013 N56JR with i7-4700HQ and GTX760M (EH-71 I think is the model number to separate it from other N56JRs)

Specs are 100-240v 50-60Hz 2.0A Input and 19V 6.32A Output. From what I understand the PA 1121-28 charger used for later laptop models has the exact same specs but I'm not sure whether that is also already EOL and where to go from there.

I tried a local supplier but the lying bastard told me he was getting me exactly that old charger (which was unexpected and unlikely) but then shipped an under-spec generic 19V charger instead.

Can you help or am I better of testing my luck on eBay listings?

Good day, so I purchased an Asus Strix RX480 from another carbie recently and found that only half of the cards led's lid up. Long story short I actually found the answer on asus forums where lots of people were discussing the fact that the fibre tubes used to spread the light to the rest of the card had somehow gone bad probably due to heat. What I would like to know os what is Asus doing about it? Is it worhty of an RMA? Is there an easier solution or just live with it?

Hi bearman,

Yes we'll be running some promotions with Evetech for the duration of the weekend :)

Kind regards,

Hi, i am new to pc building and i am a bit confused with RAM. i have a Ryzen 7 1700 with a crosshair vi hero. Asus recommends 2400MHz but i am reading guys going up to 3200MHz.
which should be used?

Usually, slower speeds are more compatible with CPUs out the box. The JEDEC standard was created to ensure compatibility so a recommendation is for the most compatible based on a specific set of settings. RAM can go much higher but as you go higher, compatibility becomes harder and harder to ensure. JEDEC memory standards - Wikipedia

Faster RAM is better for RYZEN as the CPU uses the RAM speed to ensure faster execution of instructions. Your best bet is Samsung 3200 speed RAM with CL14 timings. Fast and compatible. You can get faster but it gets very very expensive as you get closer to 4000mhz.

Hope this helps.

just to be clear, you are saying use RAM which uses Samasung chips?

Yes, Samsung B die RAM will clock higher, is more compatible with Ryzen and you can drop the latency a little more. Budget R4000~ for 16gigs if it.

PM me for some kits to buy but G.Skill and Corsair are Ryzen friendly.

Edit: here are some links to help you pick a nice kit out
