So my DL expired during lockdown and I know they extended it for a long while still, but I am quite frustrated with the whole "booking" system going on...

Has anyone in Gauteng recently done their DL? Everytime I go to the eNatis website to book an appointment it says that there are 0 booking slots available.

I have tried at least 8 times over the last 2 weeks at different times and every single time it says there are 0 slot available...

This is the most bogus system ever I wish it would be more transparent and less controlled... If the next available slot is in 2 years, fine... But at least tell me that and show me that on a booking calendar, not this vague 0 slot available nonsense....

I have heard from multiple people now that the only way that they got an appointment was literally to bribe people inside and outside of the test centres (going rate appears to be R1500).... I once drove with a friend to Bronkhorstspruit (because they apparently did DL without appointments) just to arrive there and find out they do indeed require an appointment... One of the very first people who greeted us at the door asked if he could "make a plan" for us.

I am over it... I don't participate in corruption and I have had it full to the brim with me being left with only 1 option when I have to get things done...

Please tell me someone couldd shed some positive light on this problem?

Hey, did mine 8th of July at the Bedfordview centre. Made a booking 2/3 weeks prior. Had to refresh the webpage a couple of times. They make spaces available on particular days for certain districts, like for Ekurhuleni it gets done on a Wednesday from 07:45.

Jup I understood this much as well from what was explained on the website... Except I have waited 3 times now on a Monday morning (which is when they make space for Pretoria) 07:45 and refreshed the page a couple of times and it still said 0 for the whole day long... Glad you got sorted at least...

One of my friends went for his, he just went to the DLTC and waited in line for 5hours to make the booking.
Its not ideal, but brute force seems to work.

Sounds like OP's question is answered - sort of related question - apologies for the derail

Anyone know if vehicle change of ownerships can be done during these times?

Unless they tell you that you need a booking, not sure how he made it work.... Thing is you cannot stand inline anywhere to book anymore in Gauteng. It's all online now... I drove to Bronkhorstspruit waited 3 hours just to get infront for her to tell me I need to make a booking and if my licence expired I must apply for a temp. one.
