--Hope this is in the correct section, if not please move @Mods

So I'm in the process of buying yet another chair for PC Gaming/Work/General use.

I've been through about 1 chair a year and getting a bit frustrated at how easily they wear out. When I say wear out I mean like "faux" leather ones crack and peel, or the arm rests screw up, the gas runs out etc. I've had chairs ranging from R400-R2500 all with some of these annoying issues.

What can you guys recommend, what are you using etc?

Ideally something with good support/posture for long gaming sessions?

The general rule is to avoid Makro-type office chairs. They're not made for endured use. Look at an office supply store, such as Zippy or Office Group. Expect to at least double the price of your most expensive chair to date though, but rest assured that most of the chairs are rated for 24/7 use for people up to 150kg, and then they come with a 10 year warranty as well. I haven't bought such a chair yet, but hell I'd love to one day.

Been using the high back GetOne chair for many years and love it: Chairs

Though they've increased in price quite dramatically recently - Rand woes I guess.

I'd stay away from these "gaming" chairs personally. They look like they were designed by a marketing team, not anyone who gives a damn about the user and their well-being. There are also the Aeron chairs, but you're making a pretty hefty investment there - they're outrageously expensive.

By the way - you can have the gas cylinder replaced on chairs. Takes 5 minutes and costs maybe R200-R300.

Thanks for the comments mense,

I guess you pay for what you get. Crappy thing about buying online though is that you can't really feel what it feels like in person.

Any other suggestions?

Ergotherapy as well as any high end chair retailer worth their salt will bring you a sample chair and let you test it for a few days free of charge.

Check on the evetech website, they have this raidmax racing style chair for R3500. It's sexy as fùck! It's cheap considering those style type of chairs cost a LOT.
Have a look and tell me what you think?

One i build for myself last year, still 100%.

No arm rest,or gas cylinder. I set the the height when i made it,and personally i don't need arm rests.

China town always stock racing seats, which is perfect for use as a chair

Mr Diy, I might try that if i get my hands on a nice car seat!, keep your bmws doors locked guys.
I'm lurking for a nice leather seat :D

I'm quite interested it those, but wary since I've never sat in one and don't know if it's nice.

Wonder what warranty is like?

From Evetech:

"Thank you for contacting us.
Unfortunately there is no warranty/guarantee on the gaming chairs.
If the chair broken or damaged out of the box we can do swap out for you."

I want one of those chairs, but no warranty? wut

That's illegal. CPA stipulates a minimum of 6 months warranty.

Warranty on the chair is usually 6 to 12 month depending on supplier. Warranty mainly covers manufacturers defects in this case. Chairs as such are prone to wear and tear so warranty is null and void if a tear appears. Well i assume it will be the same with them as it was with me and makro on my R3000 steel frame office chair.

I mean if you not a person who just collapses on the chair every time then it shouldn't be a problem.

It's just that chairs from office supply stores, in a similar price range, have a 5yr warranty.

Chair I currently have and just love it. Having the back open like that means no sweating in summer as the aircon blasts them cold air directly on my back. Have never had any issues on those long long gaming sessions.
Will be getting one of these when I "upgrade"

Have one of these, best chair I've owned, only gripe is it not being high-back otherwise fantastically comfortable.

Since gaming involves a high-quality intensity and patience at the same time. A rigid, stiff chair and comfortable chair is important for enjoying the gaming time.

I was suffering from the absence of a comfortable gaming chair and then my friend suggested me with few chairs. See this article [http://chairthrone.com/best-desks-chairs-for-gaming/] to get some of the best comfortable gaming chairs for the longer duration with decent price tags.

Hope it helps!

I bought this recently and I can really recommend it. Genuine leather, supports 150kg of weight and it can lock in any mid tilt position (which not many chairs can do).

Estello Genuine Leather High Back Chair | Makro Online

I have used this chair and broke it. Not with continues swinging or purposely trying to do so, I am a heavy guy.

And just from using it.

That Rocker chair looks great though but no wheels is a problem as I need to move around a lot.

Has nobody bought one of the DX Racer chairs yet from Evetech? It should have a decent warranty as one of those chairs are a investment of sorts?

I was personally thinking of going with either the Iron or King series.

KING

IRON
