Game of Thrones Season 8

No spoilers.

Great first episode :D Nice reintroduction to the characters - sort of necessary considering how long we were left waiting.
There was an element of cheese though that I hope doesn't last the whole season. As with pretty much every episode of the series, it ended with me thinking how awesome the next episode is going to be. dumdum dada-dumdum dada-dumdum...

I don't personally follow GoT but I swear I will temp ban anyone that comes with spoilers, don't be that ass, speak about the episode the day after it aired in SA rather.

The screen displays "GAME OVER, please insert more credits"

The year is 2192 and 13 year old John Snow was actually in a virtual reality game in an arcade centre.

The game is called G.O.T. The mission is to win the throne.

Just waiting for all the episodes in the series. Hate to watch one every week.....

Must be a marathon weekend for Season 8...........

o_O:eek::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

That would be an ending .... but i think that there in lies the problem with this season. In that we all know its going to end in (now) 5 episodes, and regardless of how it ends it will be a disappointing, anticlimax. Surely it wont live up to all the hype around the ending.

Probably not given there are budgetary constraints and real world technical limitations. Plus with the limited runtime there will likely be barely any epilogue.

There's always book 7 and your imagination though (though that is still faaaaar in the future).
Which will be VEEERY different considering things like Cersei has no ability to hire the Golden Company as they are already engaged with another contender for the Iron Throne, one the show didn't care to/have the ability to include. And Sandor Clegane is very very dead.

I'm actually planning to hold off till all eps are out and couldn't give damn about the spoilers I'll get in that time...binge is best!
I actually lied to myself...watched the S8 1st ep twice now:LOL: then the last ep of S7 just to refresh connecting the dots:ROFLMAO:

No thoughts on the latest episode of GOT?
Or what I like to call a middle ages episode of "friends", because they all just basically sat around sharing stories.

( No episode before this had they ever sat around for so long talking nonesense. I get they are trying to build up background and hit you right in the feels when most of them die, but come on, that was boooooooooooooRing with a capital R.)

I think it is safe to share spoilers 2days after air. So Wednesday.
If you haven't watched it 2 days after it airs then should you really be reading this thread?

One day you are going to grow old and die.

That Arya scene wasn't right. The rest of it felt like more fan service. I hope they don't rush both of the upcomming battles because of this sitting around nonsense.

That Arya scene wasn't right.

And just think, she's supposed to be 2-3 years younger than she is in the show (they all are).

Strangely enough out of all the scenes in the show like that so far that's the only one I was actually ok with.

Yes, I suppose it was a bit of a boring ep (Google the song though, it wasn't just filler) but for almost all of that talking very little of the talking that actually needed to happen was done.

I don't see why the Arya/Gendry scene is an issue. Girls in the books were married at 13...

I like the episode personally. Some issues no proper jon snow & ghost reunion, no sansa & hound reunion.

I think its because allot of people still see Arya as the 11yo from the first season.

Anyway, so the non-combatants are hiding in the crypt with the dead Starks... i hope that little girl is ready for a fight.

Ya but doesn't he or a white walker need to at least touch the dead bodies before raising them? Would be pretty awesome if NED came back as a white walker :ROFLMAO: Maybe he comes back with a General and tells john the truth

That big fight scene across the wall at that town they were trying to save two or three seasons back? Some resurrection nonsense going on there, probably over WiFi, didn't see a physical connection.

True, but for all we know they resurrected her, pinne dher to the wall and told her to lie still, like an alarm sensor lol. So when someone walks in she wakes up and alerts the NightKing over Wifi, afterall they are all connected.

P.S Didnt we see someone turn to a white walker in earlier seasons? I think he was being eaten by a white walker. Seems like touch is the way

Pinned who o_O

As far as I can tell. Create white walker = touch (and unsure if they need to be young?/baby-like?) Create wight = spreads like wildfire over that Fibre powered WiFi man

It does work like WiFi but with fairly limited range. Shouldn't be able to reach the crypt from outside the castle but if he's in the Godswood with Bran it's possible.

That said typically fancy crypts like feature stone interment so it should be all good. I mean that other one couldn't handle a sack or wood box so a stone slab should mean everyone just gets subjected to some growling or scratching or something.

If not I call Plot hole.

I reckon the crypt has a special type of firewall, seeing as it was made by Bran the Builder, you know, same guy who made that other wall that kept the white walker code in isolation north of everything else

For the white walkers touch is required like one craster son in one of the earlier seasons. For wights touch is not required as was shown at hardhome.

So this wifi will wake up Lady Stoneheart and drop connection before her pogramming is done, making her fight against both sides.

Why on earth would the show introduce Stoneheart now? Besides Beric is still around on the show.

Because they need a banshee to fight he golden company. Doesn't matter tho, she isn't in the crypt afaik.
