Deal Thread URL: [Wanted] - HP Microserver Gen8 | Combo (multi-item) sales & full systems
Seller: @BlackAdept
Buyer: @ThatGuy_ZA
Description of Bad Deal: Broken promises and poor communication

18/09 - I asked him if he has a Microserver that's available
09/09 - He replies yes - EDIT this is meant to be 19/09 - He says his supplier has stock
21/09 - His supplier confirms config, deal agreed
22/09 - I made payment of the full amount (R2000 + R100 for shipping)
27/09 - He sends driver to collect from supplier (after a few messages from me asking for an update)
28/09 - His supplier is "giving him the runaround", he might need to refund me
01/10 - I ask for a refund by the end of the day as I found another one and he not replying to my messages
02/10 - He will refund me "today"
03/10 - He is waiting for the money, "will do the refund today"
03/10 - Nothing received by end of the day, I ask for an update and he says he will do it "first thing tomorrow morning"
04/10 - [Morning] I ask for an update, stating I will post in the bad deals section if I haven't received anything by 12:00 today.
04/10 - [Afternoon]- I received my refund

--- I look everywhere for another server, can't find one, Max tells me that he got one from his supplier so I take it (mostly out of desperation) ---

14/10 - He confirms price (it's gone up to R2300 now), age and specs (exact same specs as the one above); we make the deal
15/10 - I make payment, he will ship the server "first thing tomorrow morning"
16/10 - [Morning] - Now he won't ship it until funds clear in his account
- [Afternoon] - He "will drop me a waybill around 5pm"
17/10 - Still not shipped, he confirms the funds have reflected and he "will send the waybill before lunchtime"; "relax bud, you will get the waybill"; "It will be shipped today, promise"
18/10 - He calls me to say that it wasn't shipped yesterday as it was over the 5kg limit and I would have to pay another R50 and he will ship it now. I suggest that he covers the additional cost as he delayed shipment by two days but he was adamant that I pay it or he backs out of the deal. He assures me that "It's an overnight shipment you can call Postnet to confirm" despite the waybill showing 2-3 days.
19/10 - I went to Postnet to see if it will be available for collection today and they tell me that it will only be there on Monday or Tuesday as it takes 2-3 days.

He is now adamant that he sent it overnight and I am "out to get him" but Postnet are telling me a completely different story. I was hoping to avoid this but I feel that these tactics and dishonesty have no place on Carb and people need to be very cautious when dealing with him.

Just as an addition to this; I had something sent via Postnet from Ravi and it also showed it was a 2-3 day delivery despite being booked as an overnight delivery, the item arrived overnight as promised.

I spoke to PostNet and the tracking number I was given is for their normal 2-3 day service. They confirmed (last week Friday) that the server will be delivered today (Monday) or tomorrow.

They actually did the same to me but called me back 5 minutes later to say the package had arrived with a different courier and was ready for collection , not that I am saying you're wrong.

On the slip or invoice itself. You will be able to see by the amount if it was indeed payed for a over night, or 2-3 days normal postnet to postnet. They usually staple the slip to the tracking paper.

Permabanned. He's scammed several members before. Maybe everyone should get together and get his info in a thread so cases can be opened and followed up on?

I'm currently dealing with him but my true caller says Max Walters. Bought a mobo and cpu from him and working out a refund cause the cpu isn't working but can't say its a bad deal so far. I hope he doesn't just disappear now

I've just collected my server from PostNet and the serial number seems to check out. Unfortunately I can't test it at work.

My TrueCaller also gives his name as Max Walters.

I left a negative iTrader earlier this year about my sketchy deal with him. Here's a delivery note if anyone finds this info helpful.

According to Truecaller, that 011 number is for Reginald Infiniteconnect.

He also has two email address - one @infinitedata.co.za and one at purpledart.co.za - both have the same registration information and neither organisations seem to exist.

He also blocked me on Whatsapp after replying "No, I do not" when I asked him if he still works at infinite data.

Yeeeaaahh, by all indications, that should be bruddah Reggie.... he called himself "Reginald Infinity" on Facebook way back in the day, which is consistent with the supposed company name.

HA! This would explain how I got a 4TB Harddrive from him, still sealed, with the CNA price tag still on (like R2300) for only R1600.

Took him 5 days to get it to me, but whatever man.
