Morning all

So here is my completed build log for now.
There will be some additions ie fans that I need to change aswell a few other items down the line.

Cpu - i7 9700k
Mobo - MSI MPG z390 gaming edge
Ram - 2x 8g ddr4 3200
GPU - Asus GTX 1080ti
Case - inwin 303 white
Cooler - nzxt kraken x62
Ssds - 2x Wd 500g blue

So since purchasing the parts for my new PC which was long over due I had a theme in mind which I had been pottering with for quite a few months since receiving this lil guy.

So with the theme semi known to what i was going to do,
Next was to get the parts and make that CUD happen

The following arrived very promptly which i was very happy about,

I received everything on this past friday , which gave me some time to further decide layout, colour scheme, placement ( x62 large rad which doesn't line up with inwin 303 )

Saturday morning arrived and at 8am i began deconstructing my old setup

Did some cleaning of the old case and making sure all the dust was out, aswell did some light sanding so the paint work would stick

I had purchased some perspex which i was going to use, but only decided on using the white one for covering the back plate area

I had then realized i had lent my cutter to my parents for house work and never received it back, and they were up in Cape Town, so alas i was short a device to do my modding.

Low and behold whilst buying some spray paint this jumped into my trolley

Been wanting a Dremel for years, so picked it up along with some PVC and steel blades for doing some cuts

Next was the cutting

Safety first

Once i finished with a few test cuts , i came out with this

This would serve as the back plate for my SSDS and what was too come

I then put the dremel to metal to make some better cable routes, so i could get cables too pass by instead of threading through a tiny hole

Whilst waiting for my lunch, i found some red paint laying around in the shed along with my old Corsair Air 540 in pieces,

I decided to proceed with some very artistic throwing of paint using the cap from the bottle

This then peaked my interest of what more i could do with it

I finished off the back plate holes for the cables to run through aswell some SSD covers ( yes i know they not perfect )

I shall leave you with this for now, need to go have lunch with the family now

So with everything lined up and pretty much where i wanted it to be ( except the non straight edges of most the stuff i cut )
It was time to get messy

first up the backboard and ssd covers



With the right throw motion you can turn anything into some sort of design

I moved on to the rest of the items i would be throwing paint at

And then let it all dry

Once dried, i needed to then start doing the internals

Motherboard first in with beautiful Gskill ram

Next up was the cabling which proved to be an utter bugger due to the Kraken having so many different fan connectors and crap that needed to be plugged in

Eventually i managed to get the fat 280m rad on , and yes i didnt know the holes wouldnt line up so i had to use the dremel to cut new ones for the screws to sit nice and snug and tight to fit

After atleast 2 or so hours routing cables, and making sure everything that needed to be plugged in was plugged in, it was all ready

Time to plug the power in and hope the thing doesnt explode

With everything plugged in

And the moment i had waited for arrived it was time to push the power button

The pump kicked in on the Kraken releasing the water throughout the pipes like a tsunami, i thought at first it was going to burst but then quickly subsided and i could almost hear nothing except the fans going.

I booted into bios first time ( hooray ) plugged in my usb to start installing windows, the bios temps showed a very healthy 30 degrees on cpu which i was quite happy about

Once in windows, all the lights came on, the Nzxt face i changed which now looks super cool, aswell there was a rgb pulse running through the case which i disabled as didnt like the rainbow party going on in the background

My little fatty now has a new home

those damn dremels... always thinking they could just jump into your cart when they feel like it

lol, someone needs to learn how to use one first though, before attempting any "major" work

along with my old Corsair Air 540 in pieces

glad I am not the only 1 with this problem

all in all looks really good.... those splatters came out really well

That dremel is really great, however being variable i wasnt too sure which speed, so just kept on full blast, but that shows with not so straight angles

however thats how we learn

Very cool, if you'd slipped with the Dremel then you wouldn't have had to bother with the paint...
