Can anyone list the pro's and Cons to this game.
Im Dying for a good Test Drive unlimited replacement.
(Basing this on Horizon 4, but if I understand correctly, there aren't major differences). It's an open-world arcade racer.
You have a garage with all your cars. You can upgrade performance and do visual mods to all of them.
There isn't really a story. There are race series based on race type (dirt, road racing, off-road, etc.) and a few "storylines" which are basically just series of challenges. Some series have entry limitations (car types and/or performance rating) so it is helpful to have a big garage.
After each thing you do you get XP and at certain XP milestones you get a spinner that gives you cars, cosmetics, or cash. Early on you get a spinner pretty much after every event so your collection builds up quickly.
And there is a weekly roster of challenges, race series, stunts, limited events etc. that also allows you to unlock more spins, cars, cosmetics, etc. This updates each and every week.
In terms of physics it is moderately realistic. It's not full arcade-mode like Burnout or NFS, but it's definitely not aiming to be a driving sim. And you can crash through most barriers and trees and things without a major impact on your speed. There is also rudimentary damage and tyre wear but nothing super intense either.
Overall if driving around a big, open-world and doing races of various types in lots of different kinds of cars sounds like fun, you'll enjoy this. It really is very enjoyable. The only reason to skip it is if you A) want a proper, involved story, or B) want super-realistic sim-level physics.
That said, if you don't have Xbox Game Pass for PC there is currently a special where you can get 3 months for $ 1. Which means you can play the game (and lots of others) for 3 months, cancel if you don't want to continue the sub, and decide then if you want to buy or not.
