Hi Carbies,

need some help. I drive a 2015 Ford Figo and the AC stopped working. Took it for a checkup and they say the blower needs to be replaced.

Turns out, this is a super expensive part and the entire dash needs to be removed.....

Can anyone help me with part sourcing and someone reliable to get this repaired without breaking the bank?

I'm based in Gauteng, East Rand......

Thanks

Kid

Oh shit. My 2014 model started this recently. Was hoping it was just a fuse or something. The AC itself still works as you can feel it while driving on the highway. But the fan is not working. AC and normal mode.

Yup sounds the same. Everything works just no air blows out.... It was intermittent at first then it just died....

Before you get too far, check the blower resistor, it is usually located behind the glove box next to the blower. You may also be able to get the blower out that way, though it might be a bit of a twist and struggle exercise...

If the blower just quit (with no pre-emptive noise etc.) then it could be a thermal fuse inside the blower (a R20 part). The thermal fuse is supposed to protect the motor windings so that the whole fan does not need to be replaced - in practice this does not happen, as the agent does not have the capability to fix a blown thermal fuse, so they replace the entire blower.

Thanks for the reply, resistor was checked and is ok.... Seems blower needs to be replaced :(

I can see what I can find out tomorrow when I go in to work but a few places are closed but I do have some contacts.

The blower can be replaced alone without replacing the whole kit. But what ford and Mazda now started doing is replacing the whole system if one component fails. This is normally about 1k part but it's very difficult to remove and replace.

Had similar issue with my Mazda, had to remove it from the driver's side and kinda remove the pedals to get it out.

But you might have to order it from China/US mine I got from the US.

But don't reply in Ford to check resistor and the replay switch as I would check that selfe just to be sure.

Havnt read all but Im having the same issue on different vehicle.

You can replace just the fan. Try have the fan repaired first though. Find a decent auto electrician to have a look
