I'm actually embarrassed to post this thread but I am in a pickle

I have run into a situation where the GPU I had just decided that living wasn't for him anymore and just packed up. Really just looking for anyone with a GPU laying around that they would be willing to give away.
I cant offer much other than a YouTube thank you message, as I said I am broke.

Last time I used it, it was working fine, no guarantees though. I would be glad to send it to you. I've got no packaging for it but i'm sure i can find some bubble wrap somewhere and an old box. Let me know if you're interested.

Dont think so really, most people are too proud. Its great to see how people didn't diss the OP and treated him as part of the community so warmly despite not having cash to offer. I mean, he swollowed he's pride and asked if the community could help him out instead of trying to scam or bullshit people for a solution.

You might see Groenies trying this stunt now, they wont get the same kind of respect, because they are scum who will have to make new accounts for it.

Something to try though, open up the broken GFX card, remove HS/FAN. Use a hairdryer on max power for 10 minutes aimed straight at the GPU core.
I have an AMD R7 265 which dies every 3 months, and that is the only way I've been able to "Fix" it.
Strange but true.
Worth a shot.

After sitting without a PC for almost 18 months, I finally have one again and I would have loved to have done the same thing to get a GPU, but my father taught me that my problems are mine to face. My pride would also not have survive it. Thus I sit with my I3-6100 and only play my very old STALKER games, further I am very happy that I can program again. I must say I am very impressed that there actually are people out there willing to help others. It's something not seen often. Hopefully if all goes well for the next 4-6 months and someone else decides to upgrade in a few months, so that I might be able to buy a secondhand R9270 G1 somewhere at a good price.

Also the proper method to fix a GPU would be to have it reflowed on a decent BGA machine. I do not know if this company is legit or not, but they claim to do it. Maybe just consider the cost first as I do not know their prices, but as a former repair technician whom worked on a BGA machine, I know it gets fairly expensive.
