Looking at getting my first 144Hz monitor and currently between

And

Dell worth the extra money? Reviews seem more favourable. Anything else I should be looking at thats comparable.

Must be 27" 1440p and 120Hz+, no curved screens

What about that Alienware 250Hz screen, I see it often go on special?

I will assume you have an AMD GPU to benefit from FreeSync, so go with the Dell S2719DGF (higher brightness, 1ms response time)
Have a 1080, but new nvidia drivers have enabled a sort of psuedo gsync on freesync monitors as I understand it. This works quite well on the dell from most of the posts I can find about it.

Not willing to spend the extra for a gsync monitor with similar specs

Dell it is then, you also get an extra year warranty (3 year) and USB/3.5mm passthrough

The mecer k3g3r also looks pretty interesting for basically the same price but not too sure about the va panel and the curve, it is quite a bit bigger though which is nice

At that size the curve doesn't really matter much. In fact when gaming it makes things nice and immersive.

With a VA panel you're giving up just a little speed but gaining much in colour strength, contrast and uniformity.
