This is a superb little balanced mobile DAC/amp. I have loved it since the day I got it. It has previously spent time with some of the ZA greats like Darren and Thomas.. but sadly, the time may be at hand to open the door and invite CUD in for a cup of tea.
Dual 4490's, super smooth and natural presentation, never shy of detail, and never harsh. Plenty power under the hood, especially thru balanced out or thru the AM5 amp module. Personally I never had to use the AM5 amp as it handled my MDP IEM's perfectly, as well as my HD650 thru the balanced out on the stock amp module (I never tested it with my 800S). I travel a fair bit, so it kept me company on my travels.. more recently feeding my Massdrop THX AAA 789 in hotels, and doing a fine job at that. Just a great all-rounder at an affordable price.
