Job description

My wife has a boutique business law firm situated in Linden, Randburg, Johannesburg.

They are looking for a bookkeeper to perform a variety of bookkeeping tasks which includes:

  • Recording transactions and conducting daily banking activities
  • Suppliers: loading and filing of supplier invoices, review and/or creation of payment reconciliations and payment batches (weekly/monthly)
  • Clients: preparation of billing statements, creation of invoices and dispatch of documents to clients, generating statement of account, receipt allocations, assisting with collections and account queries
  • Payroll: capturing and adding employees, generating payslips, EMP201 capturing, U-filing submission and payments, WCA return submission, leave administration, etc.
  • VAT submission and returns
  • Producing various financial reports via accounting software
  • Reconciling reports to third-party records such as bank statements
  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders and handling queries to their satisfaction (e.g. partners, clients, suppliers, etc.)
  • General office administration duties (ad hoc)
  • Reception relief (ad hoc)
  • PA duties for partners (ad hoc)
Skills

  • Computer literate (proficient with outlook, word, excel)
  • Ability to learn new software quickly.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Outstanding organizational and time-management skills.
  • Dedicated and goal-oriented with a strong work ethic.
  • Able to work under pressure
Qualifications

  • Grade 12
  • B Comm Degree (or busy with it) or NQF 4/5 (Financial Diploma)
  • 2-4 years' accounting/bookkeeping experience (preferable)
  • Ghostpractice accounting system software experience (advantageous)
  • Sage payroll software experience (advantageous)
  • Must live in surrounding areas
Salary: R15,000.00 – R20,000.00 p/m neg. (Gross)
