Deal Thread URL: [Sale] - Iphone 8 Plus 256GB and Iphone 6S Plus 128GB For Sale | Phones
Seller:
@Jamez
Buyer: @madhatta
Description of Bad Deal:

I bought the iPhone 6S Plus from above user on the 19th Nov for R2800 including shipping, cash cleared on the 20th. He managed to ship on the 25th. Got the phone on 29th
When I received the device I noticed the following:

* Phone was more roughed up than shown in the pics or anticipated
* Screen was cracked at the bottom
* iPhone was still signed into iCloud

I message him as soon as I got it and said I was not happy with the condition and asked for a refund and offered to ship to the device back at my cost. He said due to a financial crisis he actually didn't have the funds to refund me. He said he will see what he can come up with

02 Dec:
Contacted to ask if he has an update, he said refund was not possible yet
He managed to get me the creds for the iCloud account so I can unlock it

Then found out:
* It was a 64GB, not 128GB as in the ad
* Touch ID was not working, like proper

He said he'd do a refund

05 Dec:
I followed up, said he has a buyer but they wont pay till they see the phone
10 Dec:
I followed up, he suggested I sell the phone for whatever I can get and he'll cover the difference
12 Dec:
I sold it for R2400 and asked if he can transfer the balance
13 Dec:
He messaged me, saying he'll do the payment and he is will accept a negative/neutral iTrader for this
19 Dec:
I followed up, he said he would hopefully do it tomorrow, waiting for his funds to clear
27 Dec:
I followed up, WhatApp remains unread

So... all through this, the seller did explain that he is going through a tough time with a medical emergency. I totally understand that and have been sympathetic towards it, hence the amount of time given to rectify this.
We are all human and life happens, plus it was Christmas time, however I feel I went out of my way here to try and help the situation but I feel the seller hasn't played his part in making this right.

@Jamez Share your side of the story and an ETA on when the member can expect a refund. I think @madhatta has been patient enough and gave you plenty of time

Howzit guys, willing to accept any punishment here, I no longer have a job, apologies to the buyer

@Jamez glad to see you're responding. To clarify something quickly - there's a difference between punishment and justice. I want @madhatta to get justice, but I feel it's a bit rough to ban you because you lost your job though. Do you have any other way of earning some cash? I guess you owe him R600 still, correct?

I owe the gent R400, I have tried and been trying to sort the cash out, but with losing my job its become a bit difficult along side my medical issues, he has my word he will get his money regardless of what happens on Carb

Sorry to hear you lost your job bud, worst possible time. Apology accepted
Thanks for the feedback, I think for me more important than the money is the communication.
Please just keep me up to date here with the comms.
Thanks @Toxxyc for following up here.Any ideas as to how to proceed here?
Also, just to confirm, it’s R400

Hi All,
@TheRidDler has settled the debt for @Jamez and has paid me the R400
What an amazing gesture and thought provoking for all of us
When this thread was started, it was under the impression that the seller ghosted me. This has changed and so have the sellers circumstances
In the spirit of Carb and @TheRidDler generosity , I have decided to pay this forward back to @Jamez in his time of need, if he would accept.
Let me know if your bank details are still the same bud
