Deal Thread URL: [Sale] - Iphone 8 Plus 256GB and Iphone 6S Plus 128GB For Sale | Phones
Seller: @Jamez
Buyer: @madhatta
Description of Bad Deal:
I bought the iPhone 6S Plus from above user on the 19th Nov for R2800 including shipping, cash cleared on the 20th. He managed to ship on the 25th. Got the phone on 29th
When I received the device I noticed the following:
* Phone was more roughed up than shown in the pics or anticipated
* Screen was cracked at the bottom
* iPhone was still signed into iCloud
I message him as soon as I got it and said I was not happy with the condition and asked for a refund and offered to ship to the device back at my cost. He said due to a financial crisis he actually didn't have the funds to refund me. He said he will see what he can come up with
02 Dec:
Contacted to ask if he has an update, he said refund was not possible yet
He managed to get me the creds for the iCloud account so I can unlock it
Then found out:
* It was a 64GB, not 128GB as in the ad
* Touch ID was not working, like proper
He said he'd do a refund
05 Dec:
I followed up, said he has a buyer but they wont pay till they see the phone
10 Dec:
I followed up, he suggested I sell the phone for whatever I can get and he'll cover the difference
12 Dec:
I sold it for R2400 and asked if he can transfer the balance
13 Dec:
He messaged me, saying he'll do the payment and he is will accept a negative/neutral iTrader for this
19 Dec:
I followed up, he said he would hopefully do it tomorrow, waiting for his funds to clear
27 Dec:
I followed up, WhatApp remains unread
So... all through this, the seller did explain that he is going through a tough time with a medical emergency. I totally understand that and have been sympathetic towards it, hence the amount of time given to rectify this.
We are all human and life happens, plus it was Christmas time, however I feel I went out of my way here to try and help the situation but I feel the seller hasn't played his part in making this right.
