Hi guys.

I got this SAMSUNG&Prod HD103SI 1tb drive from a friend, that said it was dodgy. Used it for a few days now, and as of late, Win10 been telling me top backup info on this drive. Anything that can be done to save it, or is it a gonna.

Would hat to have to loose info stored on it.

Cheers

Windows is stupidly oblivious when it comes to drives,if it says its dying you are pretty farked if you dont listen[emoji1787]

If your friend said it was dodgy he probably had good reason. Windows is just confirming what he told you

windows would normally start warning when its really getting to the edge and should fail soon, but i have had this in the past that you get the warning and you could still use it for few more months.

but do with caution as it can fail anytime and the other issue it tends to cause is random slowness on your pc as windows pols all drives randomly to check if they all still fine and it can get stuck polling the failing one and cause these sudden pauses while using your pc.

Fook man. Now I'm stuck with a 250gig. Temporary at least. Thanx guys

There are free software you can use to check hard drive health.
Search google for HDD sentinal or CrystalDiscInfo

Thanx Spaffy. Will check it out
