Specs : MSI X570-A Pro + R5 3600 + 2x 16GB Kingston 3000mhz , everything stock

Hey Guys,
So I moved my stuff into a new chassis and upgraded the cpu cooler to an AIO , then i just started getting blue screens and freezing. I checked temps , reseated+new paste cpu+ram afew times same result. I then reset bios and loaded default bios settings, same results. Fired up an ubuntu live iso and tried to do memtest but it freezes so tried other ram from a working system but no change! I then installed my old R5 2600 and the memtest works fine been running for afew hours now with no issues. Have not tested Windows yet.

Is the CPU faulty? or what?

Another one. Seen other threads like this about 3600s

Have you tried switching from the AIO back to the original cooler?

Try loosening the AIO mounting screws a bit? Overtightening them can cause issues, apparently.
Yea this is a common issue on AMD with coolers that dont use the standard AM4 retention clip but rather 4 post screws to mount the cooler.

think i'll try loosen the mount abit first, could i have damaged cpu from over tightening the aio?

The reports I have seen mention that the issues go away and all goes back to normal when loosening the mount. I guess it is possible that it was damaged, but it's not a given.

so i tried loosening the mount, check cpu pins, playing with voltages of the soc and sb nothing worked, then i restored defaults and dropped the ram freq and poof it works!!! then i increased ram freq 1 step at a time running tests after each change till i got to 3000mhz and it works!!! set it back to auto and back to kernel panics and freezing, set ram freq manually to 3000mhz and the problem goes away!

I dont really understand the problem, it was working fine before the cpu cooler change and chassis migration. I can only assume that dropping the cpu temp clearly has an affect on this msi motherboard, any thoughts or theories welcomed?

Thanks again to everyone here who took the time to assist! Much Appreciated!

something i have noticed , there is a voltage drop of the soc and sb with this aio cooler. Those were abit higher with my previous Antec a30 cooler. I wonder if this could have affected the Motherboard somehow, maybe it didnt know what timings to use for the ram cause it got confused by the lower voltages?

Your voltage is probably not high enough but I can’t say for sure.

It has nothing to do with temp.

Manually set your voltages in the BIOS.

RAM: 1.4v?
CPU 1.3v?
SOC 1.2?

I’d need to know what the stock voltages are to be sure. I never run auto voltage - it’ll either set the voltage too high or too low.

Same issue with my amd mb. You have to manually set volts to ensure it runs perfectly
