Hey guys

So I've had this issue with my girlfriends PC and i cannot pinpoint the cause but i suspect its the graphics card

Her specs are as follows:

I7 4790
Gigabyte H97 gaming
4x4Gb 1600mhz corsair vengeance
Gigabyte Rx 580 4gb
Superflower 650w gold
250gb samsung ssd
And some other hard drives.

So whats happening, firstly her computer bootloops. It takes about 3 or 4 times for her pc to boot (all lights come on, then switch off for 3 or 4 times) once it boots its incredibly slow and laggy. (Not everytime though) and when she tries to play it becomes slow and laggy and often crashes with nothing really using resources according to task manager. She can sometimes play for a few hours without it happening but it will eventually crash.

Another issue is shes having a ram leak. Her ram is spiking to 99% and the only way to fix it is to do a safe boot. But this issue has been around for a while and isn't the biggest issue happens maybe twice a weekl, the games and lagging, crashing is a new thing thats started recently. Then there was a Bsod yesterday with a code description Thread Stuck In Device Drive which seems to relate to driver issues.

This is a fairly fresh install (maybe 2 months) and all drivers are up to date and nothing has been installed in the last month.

So given that it seems to crash on driver problems and it seems to happen when playing games makes me think it is the GPU.

Does anyone have any opinions or troubleshooting that i could use?

Tried with single strips of RAM in different slots?

Im leaning towards a faulty ssd but it could be many things. A faulty SSD shouldn't cause RAM leak I don't think so maybe you have a few faulty parts here. Or maybe the MOBO is the culprit.

DO you have spare parts to test with, PSU MOBO SSD

Unfortunately not. Was hoping to try a few more things myself and then maybe taking it to rebeltech to see what they can test or pick up

Yea seen bootloop issues with faulty psu before.
Random slow windows with either corrupt OS or faulty HDD/SSD.
Faulty/Corrupt OS could also cause the ram leak as well.

I would start with checking health of SSD.

My guess is faulty mobo or CPU, I had the repeated boot problem a few years ago an 1155 mobo and a couple of days later the mobo was dead..a failing PSU can also cause the issue

Thanks for all the replies guys. Im hoping its just a failing SSD but it feels like it could be multiple issues
