Need some advice regarding extending wifi.

Main house has 25 fibre but lower ground floor wifi is very weak

What are the options for a decent internet connection in the lower ground floor? Currently running a lan cable form the router to a wifi extender/repeater but it's not working great. It's very slow and often disconnects

I am a complete noob when it comes to these kind of things so any advice would be appreciated.

I got an electrician to rewire the plug by the router to the same circuit as the plug where there is no signal (if they aren't already). Then use these two plugs for a powerline network (TP Link AV600 for example).

Fixed me right up :)

Using this

Two different names for main and ap.

Is it an option to run ethernet cable from main modem to a second modem and connect via wifi or cable? If so can anyone recommend a device

Lan cable?, longer lan cable from router so you can just move the wifi AP around?
the ap signal varies from strong to very weak. it is connected to the main modem with ethernet cable. it is in the same room as the devices that is connected to it. maybe it's just not a good quality device or I have set it up incorrectly

Sorry I wasn't really being serious with the lan cable thing.

My actual suggestion would be look into a Unify/Mikrotik solution.

Unify's are nice because if you have 2 set up (one downstairs and one upstairs by the router) then you can move around and your device will automatically connect to the one with better signal without losing connection.

changed the setting from AP to Extender and seems to be working better. Thanks for everyone's input
