Evetech breaking promises | Smack talk
I bought a Corsair K70 mk2 Low Profile about a year ago and it was my favorite component of my whole setup until one day the left control key suddenly stopped working randomly. It wasn't all the time, just every now and again I would press the key and no input would register, and now the key is...
So I've been struggling with getting a replacement Corsair keyboard under warranty from Evetech for almost a month now and I am absolutely ecstatic to finally be typing this thread out on my brand spanking new replacement keyboard!!! But sadly it was no thanks to Evetech, the company that sold it to me, nor was it Corsair themselves coming through in the clutch.
After going to Evetch's premises 4 times, and speaking to the same IT consultant who didn't even have a big enough vocabulary to at least tell me there wasn't a fault found for the 4th time now in a slightly different way, and calling Corsair multiple times between the hours of 7 PM and 3 AM in the morning due to Americas time zone, they both assured me it was a lost cause and that it wasn't going to happen. At least Corsair had the decency to tell me off in a nice way, whist our local Evetech's ray of sunshine flipped me off as I departed from their premises for the 4th time.
I was pissed off and depressed that all my hard work had amounted to nothing; until @Mooseza messaged me privately on Carbonite after reading my first thread. He works at this amazing IT store in Kempton Park called ASG and I was in and out within 5 minutes with a repair order with the supplier just after arriving. Every single person there was friendly, knowledgeable, and did nothing but cater to this lowly customer in their store (A welcome change of pace to the Evetech sales reps that stare into their computers screens souls without making eye contact more than 3 times during a sale).
This is my PSA to anyone who's ever had issues of any kind with a supplier/retailer/Evetech.
Don't make my mistake and waste your time trying to reason with the unreasonable!

I will personally never again touch Evetech with a 20-foot pole.
I'd much rather go to professionals that actually give a crap about their customers, and walk away in 5 minutes both happy and confident knowing that my problem will be taken care of.
