Everyone is hating on FIFA 19

Except me. I love it. It's getting better and better and it's the small changes since FIFA 17 that make it great. I want a 4K TV, just for FIFA and it's the only game I play now.
I also used to wait for games to drop in price but I ordered the Champions version at a hefty R1200.00, something I'd never consider doing before. I'm not disappointed either.

When I say everyone, I mean everyone who isn't a listed reviewer for a blog or magazine - the Metacritic score is quite high at ~82 but the user score is low.

Hey man. From some one who budgets for 1 game a year if you look at it. It's minimal effort maximum profit from EA side. The small changed that was made can be added by an update but they will rather charge R900 for new one.

If you looks at F1 games Codemaster stated that f1 2018 has no big improvements and is only an updated 2017 version. With a bit better graphics, added regulation changes and offering classic cars included. They charged R300 for there new game. Fifa is the same thing but they will rather charge full price for a fifa 18 re-skin. Not worth it tbh

Yes Champions league is in but that is just content that can be added in an update.

But that is my 5c.

My view on this is, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." Fifa 19 is a great game, an almost perfect football game in my opinion...What more do you want them to add? They've given us new modes (Which are alot of fun btw - No rules, Volleys and Headers etc.) so isn't that worth it? I mean come on now, this is like Samsung and their phones...Samsung has perfected their phones so much that it's difficult to better it (DJ Koh even said that), the same with Fifa...so yeah

There is minimal things added, I'd agree, but the actual physics of the game is better and more realistic.
I also play the FUT mode almost exclusively and it's so much fun. You can see the difference between the game at early adoption and later adoption.

I do think EA milks their clients with each release but if I'm having fun and I have the money then so be it. If I think it's worth the money, I'll pay for it.

When I use to play fifa from console days it excited me to an overhead kick or a diving header and those fab celebrations , ... then came tomb raider hitman, splinter cell and fucked everything up

Fifa only proper soccer game for realism pro evolution couldnt come close

So you pay R999 for Forza Horizon 4 but could have gone to checkers and purchased a toy car for R100 and push it around yourself?

Same reason I'm spending 799 on black ops because buying a rocket launcher to go and shoot at random people is more expensive!!

I see Forza as more of a hotwheels situation though so think 250 for the toy car

It's a simple business model like COD or every other sports game with yearly release, they know every year when they release a new game people will have to buy it to stay relevant on the multiplayer services, to make sure people move they add new features every year to try and make it more appealing and justify it being a new game.

They could very easily push it as updates, with new team roster and functions, but where's the profits in that

That's why i play cricket games, they very seldom release new games, because there is no need for it. Also I played FIFA 97 a lot and I can't really tell the difference between that and every other rendition of the game.

i disagree PES is much more realistic in terms of gameplay and physics, because fifa has all the licenses and more gameplay modes, content etc, fifa is more enjoyable to play.

I was just like you. I bought and played all since 2000, until 2015. Then it all became the same there after. And everyone online all played the same way, every single time, they tried the same move, over and over again. It stopped being fun.

That being said, I would like to try the new one. I will wait for a sale.

I agree yo until last year I felt like there hasn’t really been improvements for a few years.

As one FIFA player to another, you have my word you’ll enjoy 19.
