It's about time for an update I'd say.
So in the last month I have had some serious CUD issues
I upgraded my 3930k to a 4930k which was amazing. But to be honest I really didn't want to be sitting on a dead socket.
So I decided to sell my LGA2011 stuff and instead shift to LGA1150.
Before anyone hates on me for going from a hexcore 4930k to a quadcore 4790k there are a few things you need to understand.
Yes the 4930k will dominate the 4790k in multi-threaded applications when doing things like video editing. But the truth is that I hardly do video editing any more. The main use for this rig will be gaming, and it's in gaming where the 4790k trumps the 4930k due to faster single core performance.
On top of this by changing to LGA1150 I was able to upgrade my board to something a bit more sexy.
And by more sexy I mean a lot more sexy, as in Maximus VII Formula Sexy
I am also getting a special 4790k from Vivi
yes ultracooling is happening, and I have given him my board and ram so that I can have the most stable OC possible. So big shout out goes to him.
On the watercooling front there have been a few developments.
You may have seen I am selling my raystorm CPU block, this is simply as I am changing to a EK Supremacy Evo Clear Nickle block (which I think is so sexy). To go hand in hand with this I am also getting the EK Monarch ram block (Cause why the hell not). Lastly I have gotten my hands on some clear rigid tubing and fittings, which will be making up the loop in my system. Fluid has been changed to a UV Purple from mayhams. Now some might say why purple. Well the reason is simple. I think it matches the build name.
Also I think it will look amazing in the brown desk.
So yes boys and girls a lot has happened, and pictures will be soon to follow.
Now I just need to try and hold out from selling my 680's and upgrading to them 970's
