Enigma Desk Build

We will get there. Once I get that solar glass and the UV lighting it will already be a big improvement. Doc_Zenith

Uhg, that AX850i is amazing!

Great work so far!

Hahaha thanks man. Must say that I am very impressed with it. Had an RM750 a while back but it's build quality was bad to say the least. Went to the Seasonic which was amazingly well built, and this absolutely blows it out the water. Has a 5 star rating on Newegg at the moment but will probs go down to 4 as time goes buy.

Damn dude that is looking mad! That blue piping just fits in so well, you're going to have to do something about the cables though. Have you got a space underneath to run the cables?

Other than that it's looking mad impressive!

Hey man yeah I know them cables need to get hidden. I will probably just cut them and recrimp them so that they are short enough to fit under the pump housing and then connect them to the blue molex extension which I will run against the back where it can't be seen. As for the motherboard 8 pin I will probably just run it under the motherboard. don't mind the pci'e pins though. the fan cables will also be hidden around the top ridge.

Looking great! Very nice work.

Tell me about solar glass though...I'm not sure what it is. Some googling implied that it's reflective, so I'm guessing you're going for the same effect I'm looking at for my Prodigy build, only I was going to use stick-on film.

Actually an increase in performance. Two single GTX 680's in SLI run faster than a GTX 690 and HD7990 in most games. Same way that Two HD7970 on single PCB's run faster.
AMD Radeon HD 7990 Graphics Card Review - Page 17 of 20 - HardwareHeaven.com

<comes running to defend his massive cud spend>...ey! Those are overclocked 7970s! Probably 1050Mhz. The benchmarks I've looked at have the 925Mhz 7990 equal to 2xGHz edition 7970s. Let's clock that 7990 to 1050Mhz and see who comes out on top :p

iamgigglz Haha similar thing except that it already has the film and is safety glass. A bit thick for your idea. Comes in at about 6.3mm. Go with the film. Let me clock both 680 "Lightnings" to 1300Mhz. Then we see who comes out top :p

Naaa man that 7990 is a beast! Enjoy it! and its the perfect card for your prodigy as you only got the one pci-e

Yeah with mITX it's less about bang-for-buck and more bang-for-slots. Dual GPU card ftw. There's just the small puzzle of how to fit two rads and a 7990 into a Prodigy...
#hijack off

Can't wait to see the ridgid tubing in there with the glass. It's going to look sick!

Should fit. 240mm in the top and 200 or 240mm in the front. Luckily the prodigy is a wide case. Grab one of these guys with a d5 and you sorted.

I wanna get the 240mm version of it. Looks amazing

Ooh nice, and well priced too. I've organised an old Danger Den res...a 150 I think.

A top 240 is no issue in that case but the card is too long for the 200 rad + fan in the front. Even a vertical 240 in front is too wide to allow the card past it.
Methinks Prodigy will be introduced to Dremel this weekend. Failing that I might end up switching to a stacker 915. I'll start a build log (hopefully) this weekend where I can figure this stuff out. I don't want to hijack your log :D

iamgigglz Lol no problem man you not hijacking post a link to it on here when you start. It's always good to dicuss your ideas. It should fit in with a 240 in the front. Double check the width of the rad. As far as remember the card in the prodigy sit close to the sidepanel and if you get a ex240mm rad from xspc its exactly 120mm wide. Well atleast my ex480is exactly 120mm wide. Should leave enough space for the card. But ya just double check. Otherwise just dremel the front out and make a cover for the 240mm so it sits semi outside the case. Check singularity computers on youtubes prodigy builds. I think he did one with the 240mm cutout in front

Awesome man. Ek like die blou watercooling scheme. Sal moet plan maak om met my projekie te begin

It's about time for an update I'd say.

So in the last month I have had some serious CUD issues :p

I upgraded my 3930k to a 4930k which was amazing. But to be honest I really didn't want to be sitting on a dead socket.
So I decided to sell my LGA2011 stuff and instead shift to LGA1150.

Before anyone hates on me for going from a hexcore 4930k to a quadcore 4790k there are a few things you need to understand.
Yes the 4930k will dominate the 4790k in multi-threaded applications when doing things like video editing. But the truth is that I hardly do video editing any more. The main use for this rig will be gaming, and it's in gaming where the 4790k trumps the 4930k due to faster single core performance.
On top of this by changing to LGA1150 I was able to upgrade my board to something a bit more sexy.

And by more sexy I mean a lot more sexy, as in Maximus VII Formula Sexy
I am also getting a special 4790k from Vivi :p yes ultracooling is happening, and I have given him my board and ram so that I can have the most stable OC possible. So big shout out goes to him.

On the watercooling front there have been a few developments.
You may have seen I am selling my raystorm CPU block, this is simply as I am changing to a EK Supremacy Evo Clear Nickle block (which I think is so sexy). To go hand in hand with this I am also getting the EK Monarch ram block (Cause why the hell not). Lastly I have gotten my hands on some clear rigid tubing and fittings, which will be making up the loop in my system. Fluid has been changed to a UV Purple from mayhams. Now some might say why purple. Well the reason is simple. I think it matches the build name.
Also I think it will look amazing in the brown desk.

So yes boys and girls a lot has happened, and pictures will be soon to follow.

Now I just need to try and hold out from selling my 680's and upgrading to them 970's :p

Nice going, cant wait to see the final build :)

dayum, the big parts just keep on rolling in

from where do you import mostly?

Frozen CPU, but a shout out has to go to CUDFusion for helping out. Otherwise it would have been a hero instead of the formula :)

Looking forward to it :D

Not to hard once you get used to it. Just make sure you heat up the whole part you want to bend, as in the bend obviously has a certain radius so make sure to heat up for the whole perimeter of that bend.
