Ducky Keyboards - Are they really all that?

I couldn’t leave my Ducky behind, so I took it to the UK.

I was just overweight so they let me on. NOw all I have to do Is get the UK caps.

Aren't some of the physical keys different between the two layouts? Like the split left shift for example on UK vs long shift on ANSI.

Thanks @RebelTech I just received my year of the pig spacebar to add to my collection as they were not available when I purchased my one 2 mini they're now available. Nearly thought of buying the Ducky Zero to match my mm710 for a change of style because the Zero is only 1k from Rebeltech at the moment but then I'm also looking into maybe buying the Miami Lights keycaps they offer ;) so many choices.

I see the TKL's are sold out. Wouldn't mind a YOTP One2 TKL. Still regard my One2 YOTD TKL as an uncontended masterpiece.

I actually grabbed a second hand one - I'm just going to add some fire to this thread (which I am not ashamed, or maybe I should be, to say have read) on my experience with it.

So I use a keyboard at least 6 hours a day, 5 days a week and for the most part I'm using my crummy work keyboard (which is a different beast I'll tackle at some point in the future) but when I'm working from home I go all out with my clicky and clacky. Now I've been mostly working on Macbooks for the last few years and recently made my home office a little more impressive by adding a desktop to the mix.

Now I had an old mechanical keyboard (kailh red switches for reference) which I actually hated. I still need to sell the thing but I just generally disliked how light it was, the switches, the colour scheme. Like the biggest reason why I put up with it was because its a TKL keyboard and I'm quite a small person so the ergonomics of it makes sense.

So fast forward to the present day, I have my ducky one 2 mini (smaller but still enough keys and a big enough spacebar to make me happy), finally settling in on cherry browns because clicky clacky and I am really happy.

But I would also like to add that the only keyboard/keyboard options that would make me happy is building my own one. Seriously. I like small form factor stuff, I do not use macro keys at all, and I am more invested in the thing being heavy, the keycaps being firm, black blocks and rgb unicorn poo that makes my eyes bleed. So take my opinion with a pinch of salt.

Overall I'm happy with my purchase, I think it suits my needs perfectly but I can definitely see how this is not for everyone. Anyway may the clicks be with you!

Just got the Miami Lights keycap set from @RebelTech oh man oh man do these colours looks amazing. I need to get used to their rough finish which I assume is for better gaming grip but still something for me to get used to. The font is perfect and they allow rgb light through. Big up to Rebeltech for always supplying nothing but the best

Man I also want a ducky now, still need to purchase my first mechanical keyboard so think the ducky will be number 1

You know you want the Ducky 🦆.

One that note, I recently took delivery of a set of White PBT shine through key caps. Really impressed, the quality of the RGB is the best I've personally seen by far.

Been playing around with the lights, here are some quick cell pics (Didn't feel like breaking out the DSLR).

What if I told you.... R150. eBay. :sneaky: Quality is good (excellent for what I spent), a little bit less weight per key cap but has a lower "clack" noise when bottoming out. (Reds, if that makes sense to you). Key texture feels very nice too.

Pls send me a link when you have a gap, I wanna buy them or look for something similar (if that was a once off sale).

So I sold my Vulcan 120 and picked up a Claymore because I need a TKL. I got the Claymore that was posted last week (with Cherry reds). I took a chance on the reds, I’ve never used them before. Well, it’s superb. It’s really a quality keyboard and it has exceeded any expectations I had, which makes letting go of the Vulcan a little easier.
