So I've always only had only a CPU in my custom loop however I am going to be adding a GPU block into the mix and I am wondering if I should be adding a second pump to my loop.

Currently running a D5 pump going into the CPU block which goes into a Res followed by a 360mm extra THICC rad. I have an old XSPC dual bay res/pump combo and with the added gpu block I was thinking I should maybe add it to the loop to keep the flow rate up. I have the loop inside a custom PC desk so there's about 3m worth of tubing in there.

So what do the pro's think? Any advice would be appreciated :D

Dual pumps always, a single pump just looks wrong...

Looks like the D5 does 1500L/H and the XSPC X20 does 750L/H so I will maybe have to set the D5 to a lower setting so they match in order to avoid any possible pressure build up when the water hits the X20

I am planning my first loop and have an X20 for the GPU and a no-name pump + tube res for the CPU (a 360 rad for each) just to use the space I have in the case.

If you can do the same, sure but any decent D5 pump should not break a sweat adding on a GPU and the rad should have no issue (120mm per component as a minimum).

Are you running that as a dual loop or a single loop?

You're right I was doing a bit more reading and the D5 will run it perfectly but now I realized the way I did my loop I won't have a place the fill/drain the loop if I don't include the X20 rofl so got to include it hahaha

I am will be running two separate loops but will need to carefully plan it nonetheless within my case either way - Beeeg One.

Hahaha, that is my biggest worry. I am trying to plan it so carefully :geek:.

Obviously heavily a work in progress

Tested the pumps hooked up to each other last night and it seems to work fine. With the D5 on speed 3 it seems to be running at the same speed as the x20 so we will see what happens when they get into the loop.

Not sure if it's worth it at the end of the day, flow is the same as if the D5 was on speed 5 so I guess there will be less wear and tear in the long run. Seems to work fine tho.
