I have a Radeon RX 580 8GB.I am trying to hook up 2 x Asus 144hz VG248 monitors but only one monitors goes to 144hz the other can only go to 60hz. When I change the settings on second monitor to 144hz it just goes black. Any help and advice will be highly appreciated. Both monitors are connected via DP cable.

If you switch the cables while keeping each cable connected to the same Display Port, does the issue switch to the other screen? I know sometime back I read about nVidia's DVI ports each having their own firmware / "sub bios" & you had to connect a screen to each port 1 by 1 , and then upgrade the vBIOS.

Are both cables IDENTICAL?

Yup if I swap the DP cables at the back the 144hz monitor becomes 60hz and the other goes from 60hz to 144hz

Also when moving the cursor from one side to the other it goes into the second monitor but it is just black.

Then I did a screen grab and both side have Desktop Image?

This is strange.

maybe a simple fix could be running one of the monitors through dual link DVI-D, the difference in color depth shouldn't be too hectic, thats if you'll be able to notice it at all (dunno what the capabilities of the monitor is).
