Position Available: Desktop Technician
Number of Positions: 1
Employment type: 6 month contract, with option to be permanent
Salary: R0-15k/m CTC
Requirements:
1. A modern reliable cellphone that can use Whatsapp, Teams, take good quality pictures etc.
2. A reliable internet connection at home or be in a coverage area to order one.
3. Reliable transport for when you do come into the office.
Perks:
1. Work from home around 50% approximately (depending on your skillset etc this can vary).
2. Coffee machine (beans, powder coffee, tea, milk, water you name it).
3. Uncapped 1Gbps fibre at work for updating Windows.

Location: Waverley, Jhb or Observatory, Cpt
Job Description:
1. To assist with the administration of 300 staff and end user devices (laptops, printers, sometimes routers and printers).
2. Provision new users and terminate old users which entails receiving equipment back, terminating system access, notifying HR etc.
3. Assist with management of 10 remote corporate sites and issues that may arise during their lifecycle (provisioning, support, migrations, decom).
4. Assist colleagues within the team if required with projects such as migrations, upgrades, data capturing, decommisioning etc etc.
Description of individual:
1. Be very system and process driven, and appreciate law, rules and order but also understand exceptions.
2. Be eloquent in English or Afrikaans, and in general be a high energy person willing to engage with people.
3. Have a character trait or tendency to do things too thoroughly or want to fix or improve something.
4. Have experience as a desktop tech in a SME environment or have the confidence to learn very quickly.
5. Experience with vendors or platforms such as: Microsoft Office 365, Azure AD/AD, Solarwinds N-able, Server 2019, Mikrotik, Fortinet Fortigate, Ruckus, Dell, HP
6. Be a tinkerer, hobbyist, enthusiast or geek in desktop computing and home/small office networks.
7. Be patient and able to guide and work with diverse people and have diverse problems requiring resolution.
Beneficial Qualifications:
1. N+ or similar like CCNA
2. A+ or similar
3. Anything Microsoft Server related
4. Anything security related.
You don't need any particular qualification or experience (although these are beneficial), though attitude, thinking skills, attention to detail, communication etiquette and other favourable business acumen traits are required/desirable.
