It wont hurt to suspect the cat. A good shop should do an exhaust back pressure test.Ahh okay so I should be looking at the DPF, I just assumed that I should have both done one time...

Okay I thought I should give a update...I decided not to go through with this for 2 reasons, I took it to a friend on the other side of town who owns a performance exhaust shop, he is a bit of a crap talker but he was kind enough to check the car for me...The catalytic converter is not busted nor is the DPF clogged.. The car runs rich so he suspects a ecu fault and is having a auto electrician look at it this week. (cant hurt as if I changed the parts and it still happened I would need to spend again.)If your DPF is blocked your car can engage the DPF regeneration mode, you will need to take it on a 1.5 hour drive at highway speeds for it to work.
Lol unfortunately its one of the busiest times of the year for me.. tendered for some govt work which seems to be coming through in next few weeks and there seems to be a flood of other work coming in too through a corporate contact... I have ben emailing documents since 10 amYes, a cat does not go bad easily.
