NB NB NB - I did not deal with Vertrix directly, i saw Yourang asked for the cards, so i messaged him and asked him directly if he still had one.

Seller: @yourang
Buyer: @lifeharbinger
Description of Bad Deal:

I needed a GPU for my Girfriends rig. I started looking for GPU's and ended up on Vertrix's post. i saw yourang wanted the lot, so i contacted him directly.
There was some time that passed, and we only concluded that the card was ready to be sold on the 5th of December. I made payment on the 6th of december.

I received the card on the 9th of december, and i advised my GF i needed her PC to install the GPU, I got her PC on the 13th of december and installed the card.

Upon installing the card, all looked good up to windows. but as soon as we launched a program like wallpaper engine, the card would freak out, and show severe artifacting.
at this point, i tried re installing the drivers, as i though a bad download could have caused it.
The card did the same after i tried both WHQL and Non WHQL drivers.

I advised Yourang that the card was faulty. and provided pictures of the screen.

in the conversation i tried to get a solution, and both me and yourang thought it could be our rig, seeing its a 3rd gen rig. perhaps its not UEFI compatible and thats maybe the issue. I looked into updating the BIOS of GF's mobo. but sadly, foxconn has no support.
in the end me and GF decided to take a punch and buy her a new cpu+Mobo+ram . We bought her a 10th gen system, seeing there could be no issue with that system vs the card.

Installed the new system, installed the card, and the same issue persists. Card still artifacts. I advised Yourang that the card is definetly faulty, and asked what he thinks on resolving the issue. i sent pictures with the card and also pictures with the old card ( GTX960 2gb ) working perfectly in the system, so it has to be the card.

Yourang advised me that the couriers probably damaged the card, seeing the card was on its last leg probably.
He then asked that i send the card back, so he can test it, and if it still fails, he can ask his guy to look at it and maybe flash the bios or repair the card himself.

Seeing the card was advertised for R2800, and i paid R2900.00 ( R2800 for card and R100 for shipping ) i told Yourang the collection on the faulty card should be for his account.

He also advised if he cant fix it, he will send it to his guy to be repaired after christmas. and then if it cant work, he'll refund me.

I advised Yourang that i do not agree with his resolution to this, as i tried everything from my side to get a solution for the card, including buying a new system, just to have the card working... and me having to wait for a third party for a solution, why should I ? surely yourang and the thirdparty should sort it out on their time.

Now this is where i got irritated and asked @Kav33r to give me his opinion. As i cannot see why there has to be a 3rd person involved and that i should be happy with a repaired card that was " on its last leg "

Kav33r advised that he spoke to an admin, @Toxxyc , and they suggest i ask for a refund and Yourang sort the card out with his supplier. This was the best solution in my opinion.

I told this to Yourang, and also tagged both Kav33r and Toxxyc in on the message, so they can advise Yourang of this.

I agree with Yourang, that he cannot process a refund until he has the card back with him, but i do not want a repaired card back that has already failed.

At this point, we are both waiting for the opinion from an admin to have the way forward suggested.
The card is ready to be collected from me, or ready for me to ship back via postnet ( if shipping is paid for )

Either way, the Issue has stopped, hanging in place.

@Toxxyc , could you please give your input to this so we can move on, because at this rate, it seems i am going to wait until past Christmas for a solution anyway.
@yourang , if i missed some details, feel free to add them.

Message Thread URL ( if it can be accessed )

i will tag both in on the massage again.

Thanks
Riaan ( Lifeharbinger )

@yourang you bought the cards for cheap, sold them at a profit WITHOUT a Reseller sub and now you refuse to refund the guy for a broken card? Artefacting does NOT happen with shipping, it's typically a VRAM issue so the card is stuffed. Refund the guy and sort out the card with your supplier, like I said to Kav33r in PM on the matter as well.

Your input here is required.

I bought 3 cards from this post:

1 of the cards was recieved as faulty which vertix did refund me on, and then the other 2 confirmed worked, tested it and let vertix know they working 100%. The card was in my rig for 2 days before I sold it.

So yes one of the cards did get damaged in shipping to me from vertix so it could got damaged when I shipped to him also?

I am ready to refund I wanted to have card shipped on monday i would had today in my hands I could of refunded him.

I am just asking card to be back in my hands before I do refund. This is how have been doing bussiness for years, have over 100 Itrade to back me up and plenty of forums memberscan back that up also.

I was scammed over 100k this year in total, probbaly more I just asking for card back and I will refund, as can sell card for the fans then.

@Vertrix can also back me up that card was working by him and working when I recieved it.

@lifeharbinger the above suggestion seems like a good solution. He has a decent rating so send the carb back (on his cost) and then you can get your refund.

@yourang I suggest you stop buying shit cards. You've been scammed to quite the number, it seems, and it seems like it's because you're not doing homework well. Vertrix did state the cards are overheating. Overheating can konk out VRAM and that'll cause artefacting as well.

Just for some more clarity when I had the cards before I sold it to @yourang it worked perfectly not a single issue and very cool as well. When I sent it to him he also confirmed it works without no issues and very cool so I don't know how this newer buyer has issues and I don't think it can break this bad in shipping either
