Cyberpunk 2077

RDR2 installed and ready to rock in the meanwhile.

Did the same. After 5 hours of Cyberpunk and 80 hours of AC Valhalla, they actually make RDR2 look ugly.

in RDR2 I keep noticing the horrid TAA that smears everything in motion and everything only becomes clear when you stand still (even with TAA sharpening maxed with no motion blur and Nvidia sharpening). Also that forced vignette effect around the screen is not cool.

Tried MSAA but there's still too much aliasing unless you use 4xMSAA and a higher resolution scale but that tanks the framerate.

Some screenshots I took at the start of the game

Yeah the forced vignette is an odd choice in RDR2. I bumped nits up to 1800 (important tweak to do in RDR2 game mode HDR settings), and am quite enjoying the HDR. Perhaps I need to get off my horse and just get into CP again, even without HDR. The only reason I stopped is because I feel the game will be transformed to new heights with HDR, and I would prefer to experience it like that. Mmm.. will see...

@UrBaN tried your settings and it works really well for me. Thank you sir. I'm not hitting 70fps but I'm guessing that's because I'm running Ultrawide 1080p. Still getting in the 50's and low 60's.
Overall I'm happy.

I'm busy playing with depth of field and chromatic aberration to see the impact it has on frames.

I have found that if my GPU is OC in the slightest above 70 on core and 450 on mem clock, my game crashes as it loads in, or will go in and then a few minutes crashes, but under those amounts is working great for me, no more crashes,

I did read something that ocing your GPU does make your game prone to random crashes

Glad to see someone comment on the broken DLSS in the Arasaka building., but overall it's still worth enabling.

So yesterday I got some of my first proper glitches.

There was a mission I couldn't complete while at the same time some NPC's had their torsos glitched out. One of the bodies also kept on talking. Weird AF.

Still enjoying this, would rather save and relaunch than have nothing to play.

Apparently the mempool file didn't do anything and was removed lmao

Yep, I messed around with it for a while and saw zero difference. When setting limits to 1GB made no difference I figured the file actually does nothing.

Incidentally the exe file edit just upped my CPU usage from around 30% to 60% and made no difference to frame rate regardless of settings.
I’m back to playing Grim Dawn until the next patch comes along.

The power of placebo effect, so great that it took some Redditors from 40fps to 60fps lol

Surprised they aren't doing the SMT fix for 8+ core CPUs
PC-specific
[AMD SMT] Optimized default core/thread utilization for 4-core and 6-core AMD Ryzen(tm) processors. 8-core, 12-core and 16-core processors remain unchanged and behaving as intended. This change was implemented in cooperation with AMD and based on tests on both sides indicating that performance improvement occurs only on CPUs with 6 cores and less.

Removed the memory_pool_budgets.csv file. which was not connected with the final version of the game and had no influence on it (it was a leftover file used during the development to estimate memory usage. It had no effect on how much memory was actually allocated). Perceived performance increase after editing the file may have been related to restarting the game.

Changing crowd density from high to medium made my game go from 60fps to 80 in the city center

I'd argue them saying it does nothing is a bad thing because that means restarting your game made it run better.

Getting high 70s and 80s on ultra now with a few settings in Nvidia control pannel that i neglected to change

Game is so smooth now

Good point. What settings did you change?

Just a few ones that i neglected to consider

OpenGL Rendering gpu - set my gpu, instead of auto select
Power management - prefer maximum performance
Physx settings - this one made the most difference, i had my cpu on instead of GPU, since changing that my game is so smooth now, and gpu running like 90% - 98% instead of 75% in game, so its utilizing the gpu and not CPU which i think was a auto setting.

And then latest Nvidia drivers, even though they not the game ready day one drivers for Cyberpunk i am using them and all seems great

Aswell launch Cyberpunk, then set priority in windows for the game to run on high priority instead of the normal , that makes a difference apparently

GeForce Experience also does a great job with settings^

  • Removed debug console to prevent functions that could lead to crashes or blocked quests. This doesn't mean we don't want to support the modding community. Stay tuned for more info on that.
this is very sad. Not going to lie. was hopinng they allow light modding as in the Witcher there was some really cool QOL mods that was made... and the Graphics mod that i use to this day.

I think I'm gonna join the shelving it for a while crowd. Still haven't gotten through to the second part of the game but just doing some side nonsense it's now gotten overly buggy for my liking.

I might not see dead people but I sure as heck hear them. Busted into a garage for a reported crime and after clearing it 3 of the corpses were still shouting at me. And the leader had glitched into the wall so I couldn't pick him up to get the cool gun he had dropped. Two other loot items also couldn't be interacted with.

Not exactly game-breaking but definitely immersion breaking and I don't want to burn out on nonsense like this.
Plenty of other things to play and watch so I'll wait for a month or 3.

New Patch out now...got a 1.7gb download....updates to version 1.05

Got 3.9...then suddenly it switched to 1.7, wonder what that was about....
saw a thread on steam about this...some people got 3.9gbs, some got 1.7gbs....so, apparently if you got 3.9 gbs its because you had missing files....weird though that yours started on 3.9 then switched to 1.7...

Glad to see im not the only one who romanced her.
In fact did it on both my playthroughs so far.

Also heres some screenshots I took.
More funny, than amazing (except for the rain one)
