Cyberpunk 2077

Out of curiosity, the only real upgrade path for GTX1080 owners is the 3060TI and above right? No point going for 2000 series cards since the 3060TI beats all of them? Wish the cards weren't so expensive.

Even with optimized settings and all the hex edits, I can't get close to a stable 60FPS at 2560x1080 on my GTX1080. If I go down to 1920x1080 it's better, but because the game doesn't have an aspect ratio setting, it stretches the image, so I have to change my monitor resolution in the control panel every time I play the game.

Pretty much, unless you're willing to take a half-step and grab a 1080Ti or 2070. Anything higher puts you into 3060Ti money.
Either way, wait a bit. Second hand 2080 sellers are asking the same price as a new 3060Ti...it can't last.

I see the performance mod from Nexus Mods now does everything automatically, just paste it into your install directory and it does the SMT and memory allocations for you.

I agree with you i had a 1080ti and upgraded to 3060ti today and its a massive difference. Getting 70fps on ultra with RT and dlss on quality.

Thanks, what did you specialize in?

I'm currently doing cool and reflexes but not sure how I feel about it.
I watched a great YT vid that recommended maxing 2 attributes out at 20, then one at 18 and the other 2 at 9. He said that gives you the best balance so that you can still rip shit up in game.

Well with tech pistol and perk that ignores armor I was 3 shotting bots... with a pistol that had just below 500dps.
Granted I took it easy on my 1st playthrough (literally played it on easy for the story).
And playing on the last difficulty now.
Gotta go meet up with Judy for the 1st time since the heist and already I have died more than I did in my entire other playthrough

So did the Hex editor modification now and a. game runs slower. Average fps dropped to 90 again (was 114-120 before the modification).
And then also sitting with textures not loading.
Cars look like smudges on wheels driving past.
Again, not a issue before trying this 'hack'.
Maybe it works better for other AMD cpu's
The fix reduces performance on CPUs that have more than 8 cores.

I mean hell, you summon your car and a. they charge you, then b. it knocks you over and you die instantly...
Thats just adding salt in your wounds...
AI also feels more stupid now (general public that is).
Like they just run infront of your car, where as on easy they actually move out the way... dumb ai is suicidal and wants cops to just take you out...

ah thought i saw a knock when I tried the files in the link that was given earlier.
Just gona undo those changes and go back to the original files I had instead. Worked the best.

He mentioned that. I'll look for the link. @Thanatos_ZA this is the vid I was referring to.

I need to stop freaking dodging out of cover.....

I have even changed keyboards away from my usual low profile one to my most resistant switch in the Ducky but I still keep doing it.

Invested mainly in stealth so far but it's all pointless if I keep just standing up all the damn time.

It did set my RAM to 11GB and VRAM to 5GB though instead of 12GB and 6GB, just check the log file the first time you open the game.
Just tried this, log:

No difference in performance from just editing the .exe with the hex string.

With this the SMT patch will at least persist between patches instead of people having to do it everytime.

Good vid showing how HDR is scaling using SDR tone maps. It's from the PS5 but it's clear the same thing is happening on PC.. worth a watch

The more I run around NC, the more I realise how much of a difference HDR will make to this game, and the fact that CDPR borked it is not landing well with me. The game itself is a masterpiece but I am wondering if I should put it on ice and see if a HDR patch comes out anytime soon. I see no mention of any acknowledgement regarding the duff HDR implementation by CDPR.

DUUUUUUUDEEEEE !!!!

Nidia Control Panel - Adjust desktop size and postion

Set for scaling on GPU maintain aspect ratio.

Finally started playing this game and it's brilliant. Starting off with the Nomad path so that i could experience getting to NC for the first time with my character.

This thing runs really smoothly even on my peasant gtx 1070. I did the exe hex edit as well as the memory pool change and got an extra -+10fps. Currently getting about 45-50 fps in NC at 1080pand it drops a bit with rain at night.

Need to play some more with the settings to see if i can get it closer to 60fps.

I imagine you should be able to get more performance, I have a very similar build to you, except I have a 3700X and I'm averaging 50-70 depending where I am.

Apparently CD made a huge amount of money on the launch sales

I am enjoying this game.

If you don't mind please let me know what settings you running, I'd appreciate it.

I've decided to put CP on ice for a bit. I really want to play this game with HDR. I'll do some farming on the side while I wait. The way I see it, we'll be lucky to get HDR by March next year, if at all. This game is begging for HDR. I expected more from CDPR. Thank goodness the game is a masterpiece, makes the wait worthwhile. RDR2 installed and ready to rock in the meanwhile.
