Never used to do this. Fired up the game fo rthe first time in about a month and it's pinned at 120fps.

144Hz Freesync monitor on a GTX1060 (I know) using DP
Freesync disabled
Latest drivers for everything
VSync disabled both in nVidia control panel and the game
CPU and GPU usage around 35%
fps_max 0 or 999 has no effect

Any ideas?

ULMB being used?

Hmm, maybe try using nVidiaInspector and see if all relevant settings are set for unlimited FPS. Google is your friend.

Ok wait, mystery solved.

My wife reconnected an HDMI cable to my PC after borrowing it for her laptop. Normally it's connected to the screen but not the PC (long story).
She had connected it to my motherboard, not my GPU. I discovered it purely by accident when I tried snapping a window to the left of the desktop and it just didn't snap.

I unplugged the HDMI cable and Windows suddenly got some crazy stuttering just with moving windows around the screen.
Restart and everything is awesome again.

Appreciate the replies.

You got 120FPS with your onboard GPU?

That's not bad at all.

[emoji23] I think the GPU’s output was being piped through the onboard graphics somehow...which then somehow applied a 120hz limit [emoji2371]
