I've been having this problem with csgo, regardless of how high my fps is the game stutters badly, even after locking my frames to 90.

Previous builds:
I7 3770k - 16gb 1600mhz RAM - Radeon HD6870 - SSD: It worked perfectly on this build
I7 3820 - 16gb 1600mhz RAM - R9 280x - SSD: This is where my problems started, stuttering like hell

Current build:
Ryzen 5 1600 @3.9 ghz - 16gb 2933mhz RAM - GTX1070 - Even after the upgrade no luck

Sreen: 75hz connected via DP

Here is a video of the stuttering, I have locked the frames to 90 to try and make it playable:

Game settings:
Resolution: 2560x1080
Global Shadow Quality: High
Model detail: Low
Effect detail: Low
Shader detail: Medium
Multicore rendering: Enabled
Multisampling Anti-Aliasing Mode: 8x MSAA
FXAA Anti-Aliasing: Disabled
Texture Filtering mode: Bilinear
Vsync: off
Motion Blur: off

No configs or launch parameters

Any ideas?

Try this: Fix:
Open latest "nVidia Profile Inspector" (google it)
Select game - "Counter-strike: Global Offensive"
Find in section "Sync and Refresh" setting "Frame Rate Limiter Mode"
and set it to _DELAY_FLIP_BY_FLIPMETERING (or _ALLOW_ALL)
click "Apply changes"

Also make sure to disable Fullscreen Optimizations for CSGO.exe (google how to)

(re)start CSGO

No luck

Ive had this issue probably twice now. I ended up reinstalling windows... I also switched ssd's etc. Seems like a windows or csgo issue but anyways ive ditched to linux completely for now. XD

Can you test and show us what's happening with the FPS graph option in MSI Afterburner instead of just text so we can see the FPS drops? Also when you do that let FPS max be 0 or 300.

its because you have a peasant ryzen cpu hahahaha...JK. my opinion is that its software related, either your drivers or windows

Even at 1080p60 on that vid i cant see any stuttering...

Start by changing a few minor Windows options.

Uncap your frames for CSGO, if you must cap, then cap to double your refresh rate (150fps)
Turn off Game Mode as well as Game DVR
Set your Power Options to High Performance
If you have it, UNINSTALL Nvidia Experience (You may install it again if this isn't the cause of the stuttering)

Lastly, try some launch options for CSGO;

why u not setting it to 1920x1080?

Resolution: 1920x1080
Global Shadow Quality: Medium
Model detail: Medium
Effect detail: Medium
Shader detail: Medium
Multicore rendering: Enabled
Multisampling Anti-Aliasing Mode: 2x MSAA
FXAA Anti-Aliasing: Disabled
Texture Filtering mode: Bilinear
Vsync: off
Motion Blur: off

I will do this once I'm home from work!

I get super streched screen and screen tearing like there's no tomorrow

Unfortunately this didn't work for me

This is a weird one.

The only other option I can think of is installing MSI Afterburner + RivaTuner.

Enable the in game overlay, select options for CPU+GPU+RAM+VRAM. Then head into CSGO and monitor usage.
If you see any spikes/drops in RAM usage for example, I guess running Memtest on your RAM will tell you if you have bad RAM modules.
Run OCCT to test GPU VRAM errors, it also has a CPU stress test. I'd run the tests for no longer than 5 minutes.

If that YouTube video was with fps_max 0 or something >=300 then your FPS is not right. I had an R5 1600 and was getting way better FPS than the one I see in the video above and that too in comps/death match etc. and not just playing with BOTs ( Also my CPU usage was around 50-70% and higher iirc). Have you tried testing it without an OC on the CPU and with ram at stock (reset bios and test it again)?

The reason why I pushed the clock speed up was to see if CSGO would play better. I'll reinstall windows and see if that helps, I see lower spec systems are outperforming me by far!

Its not about reinstalling windows just reset your bios and see how it performs.

gf had this problem as well we had to replace the mobo and that fixed it

@Inzane007 i have had countless problems with CS:GO with performance issues i play on Alienware 240hz, with a decent PC capable of pushing 300-400 fps and i am Supreme so i am also very sensitive to stuttering... I have seen weird errors and problems.... You might have to give more info about your PC and the software you are running... Basically i had a issue with stuttering in the past with multiple windows refresh and multiple PC parts changes, with my hardware changes it was changes from GPU to ram to CPU to mobo to changing mice... So i tried everything to resolve the issues i had... Only way i could fix my issues is by clearing my steam cache(where steam saves you config in the cloud), buying a different PC, using zowie mouse (because it doesn't use drivers) had a razor mouse and going Radeon instead of Nvidia (currently rocking R9 Nano GREAT price to performance for CS:GO)... I must say out of all the changes i did, going from Nvidia to Radeon it gave me a weird but GREAT smoothness that i wasn't use to and Radeon GPUs PUSH frames in CS:GO which i love

Hardware issues that can cause stuttering:
* Is you ram that you are using capable B-Die RAM
* Do you have two or one stick ram for the Duel channel slight boost

Software issues that can cause stuttering:
* Razor synaps software/drivers
* Weird CS:GO config saved in cloud
* Driver issues in general

Firstly as a "quick fix" try adding -nod3d9ex1 to you launch options (Steam has recently added this option to ACTUALLY do something previously it didn't do much it only disabled DX9 support i think... HERE is a video that will explain the new feature) After that all i can suggest is format your windows... Make a new steam account buy another copy of CS:GO and download it fresh... If the problem persist... then try and remove you usb devices one by one and see if that makes a difference... If that doesn't try different RAM... Try different SSD (You can just borrow a friends SSD that has windows 10, steam and CSGO on which you know works on their PC, you can just plug their SSD into your PC and it will just boot and work)... if ALL fails then there could be something wrong with your mobo or CPU or GPU which you can swop out also if you have someone with similar PC parts... Then after THAT my man you are shit out of luck xD because this debug instructions should eliminate most if not all possible problems...

If you require any config i can provide some for you i have done tons of research about launch options and config in game to have the most optimal setup which give buttery smooth gameplay

Hope this helps my man

CSGO is a CPU monster. And AMD is not your friend for the best CSGO perf. That being said, I get super smooth 300fps on a ryzen 5 2400g, so something is weird here.
Have a look at this guide, it makes a huge difference. I went from ~170fps to 300+ at 1080p.

I upgraded my RAM recently from single channel @2400MHz(I know was from a pc trade) to 2x8 3200MHz and i have not had any issues since my new ram is also classified as the Ryzen ready ram so....

I have the solution.

It is not your CPU , it is not your motherboard, it is not your GPU and nor your slow ram and it's definitely not that "Ryzen cpu" everyone's been hating on.

Ladies and gentleman it is the poling rate on your mouse,no tweaking or software needed to fix this ! I promise. I had the same problem. Spend lots of monies on good big boiii ! PC but poor little mouse is cheap cheap. So in perspective if your mouse has +- 125hz polling rate you could just as well use those old ball mouse to play cs. The truth is your PC is fine. Your mouse though needs some work. Try changing the polling rate to 1000hz and up. Your game will run like butter and you will be the Global Elite you where born to be now and forever to come.

Thank you and my Pleasure <3.

I find solution) It would be fun to hear, but try to use another mouse) or clean the sensor of yours. It really helps) Just try!) GL
Thanks so much! It did end up being a mouse issue after all, I borrowed one from a friend and the issue disappeared completely!

If none of the other suggestions work for you there is a strange thing with source games i have noticed, i was downloading another game while playing a match one day and noticed terrible stuttering and low fps in general. I also noticed this when playing through a vpn, i believe slow internet has a detrimental affect on performance, if you tried everything above maybe just kill everything using internet and see if that helps. Sorry for necroing the thread.

I have found a solution to this problem, need to play a better game :-D :ROFLMAO:
