Currently getting very low fps in csgo with my GTX 1080.

What fps are you guys/girls getting with an i7 and GTX1080 ?

A 1080 should be able to get 500fps at least at 1080p in csgo.

I'm getting way below that.

CSGO is more about CPU than GPU, but obviously GPU does have a contribution but CPU more.

There a few things you can do to improve the FPS. For starters you can disable Advanced 3D Audio Processing or something like that under Audio settings and so on.

I understand that its more cpu intensive. My cpu and gpu load are sitting around 30-40% on average with sadly there's something else wrong.
People with GTX 1060's and i5's are getting between 350-450fps.
I'm not sure if the last updates messed something up hence asking what people are getting currently .
Appreciate the response bud (y)

In short game is just fucking broken tried logging in at 3.30am and my ping in game was over 850

Time for change ...

Yeah seems like a lot of issues for this game.
Whats your fps ingame Sil ?
I know you're running a 1440p monitor but I just want an idea of the fps people are getting.
Hopefully we don't have this issue after buying sniper elite 4.
Damn valve (n)

My friend has the same CPU you have the i7 4790 but he has a RX470 which is like a 1050 more or less and he gets 180 - 220 FPS but the question is, what FPS are you getting and why are you looking at getting 500 FPS+?

Yeah i get 150 - 230 with an i5 6400 and 1070 using an nvme ssd for my games. Not sure how he is gonna get 500 fps. Like you said csgo is some what cpu based to an extent.

I think csgo is capped at 300 fps by default, you can try "fps_max 0" in the console to unlock it and see if that helps.

Im getting around 140-200. 200 being peak and 140 being average I would say.
I want to get a higher refresh rate monitor.
A GTX 1080 shouldn't be getting the same fps as an rx470.
So there is definitely something wrong.
Currently working on it.
I may be able to shed some light soon as I am currently adjusting settings/config etc trying to solve the problem.
Hopefully I can and others can use this if they come across this issue :)

What cpu do you have? Csgo isn't really gpu based. If you cpu is kek you gonna have a hard time.

There are guys online getting alot higher fps with your setup bud.
That's the problem I am having.
I've got low cpu and gpu usage.
I have the game still capped at 300fps.
But I expected a GTX 1080 to at least run at 300 fps being capped.
I've manged to raise my fps a bit will post all my findings soon.

i7 4790 (non K)
The game is using like 30-40% of my cpu. Generally around 25-30%

Not sure if someone said this but make sure multi core rendering is on as the Panarama update is known to disable by it self when updating. Happened to me also but saw that is was disabled. Switched it on and now back to normal.

It's something so simple I know but can be your problem. If not. I'm sorry no other idea.
Best of luck

You keep on mentioning your GTX 1080 but your GPU is doing all it can the rest is up to CPU etc. performance. There are people getting way better FPS but they are probs playing a 4:3 resolution and all settings on very low and if not that but 16:9 also settings on low. Your GTX has nothing to do with the expectation of FPS here. Put everything on very low and put a 1024x768 res up and have the FPS you want or more FPS for that matter.

I have a i7 6800k, SSD (makes a minor difference) and GTX 780ti. I play on Very Low as low as possbile and a 1024x768 res running and I get 350 - 450 FPS when everything is going down but 700fps if I am just standing in a building.

One thing that a lot of people also don't think about that play CSGO if your FPS isn't a 1000 that is fine, if you get 200 FPS that is 100% perfect and the reason why the majority of players play on low settings is obviously for FPS boost but also FPS drops, the higher the settings the higher the FPS drops, much higher FPS drop with smokes and mollies because of particles etc.

Like I said, there are tons of things you can do for FPS boost. There are very nice and updated guides on Youtube.

I know bud. Problem is both of them have really low usage,
Maybe the game just had terrible optimization.

Ok guys/girls.
I have managed to raise my fps quite a bit.
I am averaging around 240fps now with a peak of around 280 if I am not mistaken.
There's a spot or 2 that dips to around 150-160.
I'm hoping some updates are released to sort out the bad optimization.
In order to raise my fps I had to disable steam overlay. (only activated during testing)
I also had the following commands under my launch options ( -scaleform -novid -tickrate 128 +cl_updaterate 128 +cl_cmdrate 128 .
The above launch options were causing a problem. They reduced my average to around 145-150 when i copied them back to the launch options during testing).
So far the only safe option I have been able to use in the launch options is (-novid).
All of the options seem to affect the fps alot. tick rate reduced fps to around 170-180.
-scaleform drops fps to around 220 average when used with -novid or alone.
So far those are my findings. If I come across anything else I will post back.
Hope this helps. :).

@SILTECH786
Please remove all the commands on your launch options as they are reducing fps.
Just leave -novid under the options (y)

Thanks will try when I am logged in atm watching "Doom Eternal" videos :)

watch from around 2:40

I've just noticed now that he is on dust 1. not sure if that;s the reason.
Will add more links though.
I forgot to mention i play 4:3 1280 x 768 stretched or a 1024 x 768 also stretched but thanks for the link ill check it out to see if i can improve fps a bit :D Always mention your res xD
But i know Nuke & train arent fps friendly and obviously nades etc. causes fps drops.
