CreditCard Debit order?

I suspect the actual crazy idea is to get points lol.

AFAIK all local online payments need to use 3D secure so I don’t see a way around that.
With Telkom I can pay my monthly payment with a credit card otherwise it will go off as a debit order.

Also remember a thread on MYBB a while back about why you can’t pay for a car deposit using a CC, something about insane transaction fees on the merchant.

Also CC transactions are kind of ‘insured’, I think you can dispute something like 6 months after the transaction. Which only applies to CC transactions and not something like using your Capitec debit card to make a payment online.

EFT'íng the money from the credit card to the debit card will incur fee's. Direct debit order from CC shouldn't.

LOL crazy idea, this thread isnt about affording something but alleviating a monthly repayment ontop of other monthly repayments.

I can afford the contract, thats not an issue, Im just trying to be smart about my monthly repayments. The lower your monthly expense is the more you can budget

It would definitely incur fees/interest, it would be seen as a cash transaction.
The same as withdrawals, airtime purchases etc.

lol good idea but I dont think you get points when you make EFT payments from your CC. You have to swipe it or buy something online

I wonder if my CC has a certain amount of free cash transactions per month

i know my nedbank debit card does

Maybe check if you can do a payment using a CC, then make a payment putting your account into credit (negative).
Try maybe with an amount for 2 months and see if it stops the debit order from occurring, also note those debit order systems have a cycle to follow.

I know I would have done this but Telkom doesn’t accept AMEX 😝

I dont see why the debit order would stop if the CC goes negative. There is still money to be used if the CC is negative. Now if the CC is maxed out that may be a different story, but im not that crazy!

Sorry, put your cellphone account into the negative.
