Hi. Just wanted to check if anyone received any news saying that couriers are now allowed to deliver non essentials during the lockdown period. One of my suppliers says that he received a TCG notification to that effect. I also have a TCG account but havent received any notification. If anyone else has received some news, kindly let me know.
Thanks

I saw on TCG website that they will be operating and that they invested 700k in masks and sanitiser for it.

But they can't be delivering your 2080ti ...
We have been given the go-ahead by the government to operate during the lockdown.

When placing orders please be patient with us as there might be a 2-3 Business day lead time before an order gets dispatched with the relevant courier. This is due to a change in courier pick up times caused by the lockdown.

Also please note that courier delivery times may also be affected due to their priority list of essential products.

Even so, we will do our best to get your order to you as soon as possible.

Thank you in advance for understanding.

They said they will be delivering all new orders anything that is in stock will be delivered in 2-3 days

At the moment Dawn Wing and Fedex are the only two courier options available at the moment as we have agreed on pick-up schedules with them during the lockdown period.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you need any further assistance or have any additional queries.

Enjoy the rest of your day further and stay safe.
Kind regards,

Seems irresponsible of them to burden courier companies with non-essential items during these times.
It is said in a statement "Also please note that courier delivery times may also be affected due to their priority list of essential products. "

Placed an overnight delivery yesterday for an item they called me from head office and ask if it is for an essential company because they can't courier without the CIPC document (Which I then did send to her). But have received the parcel this morning

Interesting - so it needs to be coming & going to an essential company?

Don't think the coming is a issue the place where it is going. Like the company where we ordered it already closed down. And I were in Jhb Thursday to pick up other stuff and she said it is still on the way from Israel so I left that and took all the PLC's they had in stock. Then she let me know that the courier went to the work to deliver it and then I arranged for them to pick it up at her house.

So I think maybe just one have to be essential like lets say the sender because we need the essential products. Other wise the receiver because they need to use it.

Either way the system is broken I pass a roadblock 2 on my way to work that's 9 times till now and I were only pulled over once and checked.

Many companies are allowed to operate during lockdown. The way I understand it, you are still only allowed to ship essential goods.

Can you elaborate on the go-ahead you received from goverment that allows you to ship any items? Are you talking about the cipc document that just states you are allowed to operate? Or do you have a document that specifically states you can ship any item?

Cheers

The CPIC document is a joke...everyone and their dog has one!

My work gave me one and i am definitely not an essential service.

Well not really. If your company is any of the fields below, then yes, you're allowed to resume business as usual. This doesn't mean however that you're allowed to ship whatever you like.

If your business is not in any of the listed fields and you select one of those just to obtain a certificate, I assume this will land you in hot waters.
