zaffer, with regards to the paint job you planning on doing you might wanna have a look. Did all of this with spray paint. If you planning to cover the whole case you will need 2 to 3 cans of matte black. Hope this helps

Not arguing. I was reading your feedback and was like huh

Anyway, AztekSA has done a rather professional looking job. Hope your respray ends up the same.

Remember don't rush the prep work for priming and painting. The painting is the easy part. Rather ensure the prep is 200% before spraying.

Hey man, yeah I am going black and red. You could always go red and black. Would look quite different. I stripped my whole case out in about 30min-1hour. Pretty easy case to disassemble. Just keep track of which screws go where and you will be fine.

Thanks man learnt a lot from mistakes mad e during the desk build. zaffer as Deepblue says; take your time with the prep work. AS a minimum I suggest using a soft brush to remove dust. Next you wanna lightly sand the plastic bit, you can be a little rougher on the metal parts but don't leave any deep scratches (you want a smooth sand). After sanding I rinsed my parts underwater to remove any metal or plastic dust. Make sure you dry everything properly!

Next you want to start with the primer. I used red oxide primer for the steel parts (could get away with 1 can but get 2 in case), and grey plastic primer for the plastic (1 can should be plenty). The red oxide primer drys quick but I like to do at least two thin layers to make sure everything is covered (started with top coats about 45min after priming, some people would say that not long enough but it worked for me). You can use the plastic primer a bit more sparingly a single light layer should suffice as it bonds with the plastic.

When it comes to doing the top coat take your time and rather do multiple thin layers than a few thick ones. This will reduce the chances of the paint running. I waited about 30-45min between light coats (of the same color, I used two different reds and would give about 1 hour 30min for the previous color to dry before changing). Be warned that the matte black can scratch easy so be aware of how you handle the parts. I put a clear layer over the red as I didn't mind it being glossy.

Just accept the you may make mistakes (shit happens), its not the end of the world. Just resand and respray.

Apart form that enjoy it and good luck! Looking forward to seeing how it comes out!

Thanks man i am also going to do the red and black but going for a metallic paint look :).Going to spray the inside red as well

Very cool effect on the top rails...and painting the io cover plates is underestimated. Looks dead sexy.

Are those the fans you're selling? Did you get my pm?

So guys I will post some more pics later. But here's an idea of how things are looking :) Had a small leak on the outlet of the black res which was a bitch to sort out as the fitting is on the side facing the motherboard backplate. Also had a little crack in the one GPU block but acrylic cement sorted it and after 72 hours of leak testing I am sure it won't be a problem :)

Someone make me an offer for the whole thing so that I can start on my next project :p

Also Got some brand new adapters that I will be selling that I ended up not using. So keep an eyeout.

ROFL such a beauty of a mod and it looks fantastic then you have your PSU cables at the bottom like HFBAFHFDKAFMAFKM hahaha :p

Damn that's purdy. Very nice job dude.
Are those new red led jetflos? ;)

Also, Magnus or Magmus?

iamgigglz Nope non pwm-sp120 red leds that I had lying around. Need to get rid of them and get red jetflos cause they are to damn loud compared to the jetflos.

What is "Magmus" exactly?

Not sure what AztekSA's reference was but for me the name rings a bell from Guild Wars.
I think it's just a generally cool name; no epic meaning really.

Makes me think like fire elemental sort of shit :p And I Ejaculate fire so it makes sense.

Sorry to bring back an old thread, but i remember seeing this at EGE and the staff said that they built it and that "it's the only one like it in the whole world" yap yap marketing crap. Amazing rig though :) half the dudes at the MSI stand were going on about how many hours it took them to build this and apparently it got sold there too? Sorry if you actually are one of those guys lol but i'd be pissed to see other people making money off of a project YOU worked your ass off on. If it was you then you deserve some more credit man, really sick rig, going to be a fun time replacing any components haha

Hey man :) yeah I was at the stand. They invited me to go display it. They tried to sell it but knew it wouldn't happen there for the price they were trying to get :p I want to go either X99,Skylake m-atx or m-itx now in a full custom case from scratch. But need to get this puppy sold :p

Hey guys so sad to say but Magmus has been torn apart :p It's time for the next project. Behemoth is coming... With a Asus ROG sponsorship  So be on the look out!
