So my 2 year old knocked the left speaker off the desk and it's broken.

No worries. So annoying having just one speaker working. I'd take a left or right speaker.

Sounds like something simple. Worth opening it and taking a look

I thought the same, but the speaker is bust. Tried it in the right speaker's case and same problem.

Not sure where you are located, but if in Pretoria, that's where you want to go. They sell decent quality new and second hand replacement speakers for cheap. Bring the broken speaker along and they'll sort you out in no time.
