So I am looking to either upgrade my old 4th gen to either a new AMD Ryzen 5 or intel 10th Gen ( yes I know Ryzen is better but its cost related)

I have an old Coolermaser V8 cooler which has been with me for years and has always done me well. does any one know if there would be any issues with the V8 cooler and the new AMD X570 or intel Z590 .
Also is anyone running the V8 cooler with newer cpu's then my old 4th gen i7 , keen to know what the thermals are like ?

Thanks

Thermal wise I dont think there will be any issues.
The only hiccup might be in procuring a AM4 mounting bracket for it as AM3 and AM4 are different, but some other CM coolers might use the same mounting mechanism so a bracket from one of these might work.

Last time I ran a CM tower cooler was way back with a V6 cooler where on a OC'd 8320 or something from AMD I never saw thermals above 40c even under heavy loads, and that was without the fans even being audible.
Granted this was also in a HAF932 case so airflow was a non issue.

mounting wise for the Z590/Z490 intel boards I should be fine. I am just concerned with the extra heat sinks as the V8 is quite a bit bigger and I have had an issue with a boards heat sink been very close.

I know the AM4 i will need to make a bracket if i want to convert it over ( done this before with another cooler).

After some digging and more digging, I might have to retire this beautiful cooler.
