Deal Thread URL:[Sale] - Entry level setup | Combo (multi-item) sales & full systems
Seller: @Jake92
Buyer: @waz
Description of Bad deal:

Hi guys, So this was one of my first few times buying on Carbonite and found a great deal mentioned above. The seller was great and nothing negative to say about him even now, packaged well and everything in order.
About 1 month in I noticed my PC stopped posting and after some debugging I was told by Matrix warehouse my CPU is dead (Absolute BS from Matrix BTW). Anyways so I sold the RAM mentioned in above thread on Carbonite to @Krummelz in this thread and after he tested it he said his PC isn't posting. I refunded him and did some thorough testing and found the RAM to not be posting on a few PC's, confirming a RAM issue.

The problem here is that I OC'd the RAM to 2666mhz as per specs on the deal when I bought it from the seller as he mentioned in his deal above it was 2666mhz RAM. After this RAM issue I checked the serial number and details and it turns out to be a 2400mhz RAM and this is likely what caused the RAM problem. I will take some responsibility here as I should have verified first the exact speed before using the RAM.

So I am looking for admins to intervene on suggestions of moving forward on this issue as I have purchased replacement RAM and sold this RAM for R600 to cover some of the costs of the new RAM. There's absolutely no ill feelings here, I know @Jake92 made a mistake however it has costed me a considerable amount of time debugging the issue as well as R600 that I would have sold for to cover some of the costs of my new RAM and it was all due to incorrect information on the deal. @Jake92 has confirmed that it can't be RMA with supplier as it's been OC'd above the RAM stated speed.

Not sure if this is properly a bad deal but will try help where I can.
1) Please can you give time lines on everything.
2) You can still try the RMA route. It might just cost the shipping and they reject it or they may replace it.

There is no way of knowing that it has been OC'd beyond spec. Unless ofcourse theres visible signs of burning or melting, in which case perhaps stick to console. lol JK
As long as temp and voltage are controlled, you could OC the RAM way higher.

so just try RMA it.

Ultimately if Jake92 would like to help because of selling the incorrect spec RAM, that would be awesome however I cant see it being negligence on his behalf.
It probably was an honest mistake. The RAM seemed to work for a month before giving issues. If there where issues immediately then it could be a different story.

Try get it RMAd and see what happens.

Just an FYI most ram carries a lifetime warranty, Swap should be easy !

@Jake92 you haven't responded here yet. Care to give your side? Ad states 2666, but it is 2400?

i mistake the ram with the previous bundles i sold..
as a buyer and seller i always check before i do oc, meaning in the bios i shows default ram speeds and D.O.C.P mode.
So above is at own risk. the guy fried the ram so how must i rectify the problem? i didnt oc the ram everything was working.
posted a wrong speed but he shouldve checked and told me like i told him with the deal the package was send to wrong destination.. i took all that on me.

Yeah I kinda agree here. If he broke it next day or something that's one thing, but a month down the line to me is a bit of a stretch. IMO, OP is to blame for frying the RAM. I, for one, don't think it would have packed up with a 2666MHz OC over 24000MHz.

EDIT: I see @Ant_Shrew came to the same conclusion. Great. Case closed, IMO. Jake's not responsible here.

Agreed. Like I said it would be great for @Jake92 to help with the process for an RMA but I dont believe it is his responsibility to fix it.
