So I have never pre-ordered a game before and would like some tips please. I would like to play Black Ops 4 on release day. So the cheapest I have seen it was on cdkeys, but region locked to EU, so I sent them an email asking if it will be okay for SA, this was their response:

Hi,
Thanks for contacting cdkeys.com.
This product is locked to Europe, and will not work in other regions. So, we would not suggest checking this with Blizzard support first as the region defined by the game developers suggest that the code may not work in South Africa.
Hope this explains the situation.
Kind Regards,
Shawn S,
Support Ace | cdkeys.com

Now I am leaning morre towards Takealot for R799, any advice? Don't really want to buy it directly from Blizzard for R1000.

@LaidtoRest_ZA should know the answer to this. As far as i know though Blizzard doesnt have world wide codes and even on the Blizzard app our pricing is in euros or pounds i forget so i think you should be safe.

Weird. I’ve activated EU keys on my Blizzard account and have no problems.

I bought it with the same in mind, I mean we play on EU hosted servers as well. Also tried to use my VPN with my normal blizzard account, which still did not work. Ended up just creating an account in an EU region. Then it activated without any issues.

Still weird. Perhaps they have changed their stuff recently. My Destiny 2 key was an EU key and I can still play it with no issues

I bought a Destiny 2 Forsaken key with EU region last week on cdkeys, it did not work on my SA blizzard account.

had the very same issue and they refunded me ... apparently for Destiny 2 we need to buy keys for region 5 which is middle east and africa . The EU keys wont work even though we use EU codes for most of the time .

Hmm this is interesting. Might want to pick up BO4 this time around but now this adds an extra layer of confusion. Where do you find these region 5 keys?

I'd just get it from Takealot, the one on cdkeys is only ~R50 less.

Just make a new account on Takealot and use on of the R150 vouchers.
Always forget about takealot with these things. Not worth the hastle for R50 saving so i will just get it from takealot, can use my ebux too lol

I only find the normal version of BO4 on takealot , don't you still need to buy the black ops pass or Deluxe edition and all that for the extra maps or whatever?

I've pre-ordered on cdkeys. Hope it works otherwise I will have to refund :(

Does the standard version of the game come with the blackout (battle royal game mode)?

Just getting into gaming again, and see that my monitor comes with a free COD BO4 code. Or is Blackout a separate game from BO4?

Tried Google’ing but couldn’t find an indefinite answer.

Wish it were the same price as PUBG.

Very tempted, but not sure how much of a community there will be on PC? Would prefer to play Blackout with KB and mouse.

That's also my biggest problem. Buying it mostly for Blackout (because it has local servers) and really hope enough people play the game. The beta had more than enough people, but that was free.

Well I couldn't even play the PC beta because the servers were constantly full. PS4 had lots of servers though.

If this could attract some of the PUBG crowd I think there would be quite a big community. Tough choice though.

I can't see people leaving pubg for Blackout.
Don't get me wrong the game is fun, and I enjoyed the little bit I got to play, but it is in no way a competitive experience.

I don't feel Blackout is any more or less competitive than any other BR really. None of them are competitive in the way that normal shooters are.

I think the biggest thing stopping people from switching from PUBG to Blackout is the price tag. After playing the Blackout beta, PUBG just feels really slow and clunky.

This is the first Call of Duty I've ever bought, mostly because of the local servers and I feel Blackout is pretty good.

I don't know how to respond without coming across as a complete wanker lol
COD is casual and PUBG isn't, that's the best of way of describing it.

My biggest gripe with the game was how shit the netcode was during the beta. Yes we had local servers but I instantly felt like something was off.
My first sniper shot, I watched the bullet travel through the players head without registering...Local player on a local server...

Then there are other issues, like balance. (Weapon balance/zombie weapons ect)
The broken armor (We just have to take their word that it'll be fixed)
Using meds while moving/underwater...
Time to kill is far too long (Could be due to the armor), but the above problem just makes it worse.
Reviving a downed team mate is insanely fast...So fast that it's almost impossible to get a flank going.

Activision is right up there with EA when it comes to greed and it's just a matter of time before they mess something up with paid for weapons/cosmetics.
Not to mention their love of releasing paid for maps, splitting the player base. Not sure if they'll do this for blackout but who knows.

I think a lot will change with blackout overtime.. If you remember very early days of PUBG things were not balanced at all, infact it barely even worked haha
