Hi all,
Recently I have been working on Distribution blocks (I CNC mill them out of Acetal, 10mm Acrylic and copper) for use in custom water cooled systems and would like to know if anyone here would actually be interested in fully customized components.
See the video attached for the perfect example of what I'm trying to achieve. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GEPff7vyrEY
The end goal is a fully custom case design.
Please hit me up if anyone is interested. :courage: andrew@worthmfg.co.za

Looks interesting...welcome to carb, but this design is widely used by modders that dont mind the hard work but pcs like this are mostly build as one offs or show pcs...i would be interested perhaps in a single run, like a mid plate between basement of my case

as the man says, those types are for complete custom machines and they come along only once, now and then

now having the ability to do stuff like milled backplates or case dividers, would be much more appealing

Okay so I understand that this kind of part is a one off, hence the reason I mentioned Fully customized components.
I've cut a few random parts out of plexi (gpu support brackets, case feet, cable combs, a cover for a friends aircooler) and I think cutting backplates or a midplate would be a cinch.
With regards to both of your ideas.. If you would like anything milled, please pm me. We can arrange for you to pay material and courier cost and the rest is on me. I need a guinea pig or two and would really appreciate it.:friendly_wink:

I think give SphinxMods a shout as well seeing as he is doing mods, he may be interested in having maybe a small part done

I would be interested to know how much something like alu cable combs would be, cost of everything included

Its dependent on a couple things. If I can slip one in while cutting another job, the material would have otherwise been scrap, so I could most likely do it for under R100. However, if I don't have a job that allows for me to sneak one in :friendly_wink: then I would definitely prefer to cut a couple (My minimum material I can clamp is 100mm x 100mm, so I would fill that). Obviously the more ordered, the better pricing (100% negotiable as I would like to feel the market for this kind of thing.)

If anyone is interested, have a look at the cnc machine that these jobs will be run on - its no baby.

Those Datrons are really fantastic machines. Great choice, what else do you guys have?

Having said that, honestly unless you're truly bored and have nothing better to do, you're going to waste your time machining PC parts. Its simply just not worth the money.

You're young so I'm going to assume family business right?

@Toi Honestly an internet mind reader. You hit the nail on the head man..
We only have the neo, it is the beginning of new ventures.
As for the money side of things, this machine is used for embossing blocks and is running pretty much throughout the day. This is merely something I have passion for and have the right tools for the job, why not offer my services? Id really like to get to the point where Im producing Hans Peder Sahl quality work.

Hmm. Since you're getting the reseller and all that, you can CNC anything for Carbies, correct? What format does your machine take?

Done and done Mr Toxxyc :congratulatory:
If you supply me with pretty much any file, I will let you know if I can cut it. (.obj .stl even a pdf or jpg will do.)

Awesome! And what can you cut - anything? Max sizes?

Toxxyc I can cut pretty much anything. Only issue I have is with ferrous metals, I can only do very shallow work.
The max size of my bed in 500 x 400 x 175 (W x D x H).

Cool man, glad that the machine at least has a full work schedule. That's 90% of the stress already out of the way.

I do get that you want to make "cool shit" though. The machine is capable of some mind blowing pieces so it would be dumb to not explore its capabilities. However, playing around with something that also makes proper cash is even better.

Just been in the game a long time and trust me, its going to be hard making profit doing PC parts. Why not look into doing parts for vehicles or motorcycles?

Anyway just my 2C. Have fun on that epic machine and good luck with whatever it is you choose to do.

I know some people who also do this, and their main income is parts of farm implements. Gears, sprockets, covers, shafts, etc.

I do understand what you are saying, and believe me, it goes straight into the library. I appreciate advice from experienced people in the industry more than anything else.
How would one push their way into a market like that ( I have absolutely no experience with vehicle mechanics)? Building those contacts honestly seems to be the most difficult thing about this industry.
Toxxyc Do you feel like putting me in contact with them? :nevreness: (If so, please PM me)

Howsit guys, Just a quick update on the distro-blocks.

I finished my build about a month back which included the first block of mine and all I can say is that I am very happy with the outcome.
Since then I have refined the design and manufactured another block for @andrem - It's better than mine no doubt.

I have attached a few pics for those who are interested.:)

Estimated price on one of these bad boys?

You looking at about R3500 for a 360mm rad sized block, 30mm thick with the d5 pump integration. I would have to work out pricing per request, but hopefully that gives you a rough number to work by.
I do plan on designing one or two blocks that would be "off the shelf" orders, rather than custom one offs and obviously that would bring the price down.

also include that the block you made for andrem, is specifically for the Lian-Li O-11 Dynamic

I guess that would have to be determined on a case by case basis;)

Hi, are you still in the market for custom CNC orders?

I have a few ideas I'd like to make a reality later in the year :)
