My NZXT H700i case could do with some additional airflow in front. The front of the case is a solid piece of 1mm thick metal sheet.

I was considering just using my hole saw attachment and drilling two holes where the fans are located - but it wouldn't look as good as getting someone to properly doing it. My idea is to match the 1mm holes up along the sides and top of the case on the front panel - or an alternative design.

Any suggestions on someone either on Carb or a company in the Johannesburg area would be appreciated.

Anyone here with an H700i and managed a similar case mod?

do you already have your design sketched/put in CAD?
Unfortunately not - zero CAD experience. But happy to pay for the services for both CAD and cutting.

Something like the above design should take a few minutes in AutoCad, if you want a front panel as simple as that.
I can perhaps throw something together for you abit later, although my knowledge is limited aswell.

Check my project. Moolz Moolz

Found a shop in Alberton (Aquajet Profiles) that have taken on the work. Hex cut out design by a mate of mine PeeWee PeeWee . Should get the panels back later this week. Total cost for cutting both top and front panels worked out to R550. A bit much - but cheaper than buying a new case with better air flow. Will post pics once done.
Also hoping that the panels aren't scratched while they work on it.

alu? steel? thickness?

R550 ain't too bad... tbh, if you take into account the cost of material, it is really not that bad

when I have my stuff done in CPT, there is also usually a minimum surcharge which is obviously for covering labor, run-time and then the material

my state of mind has recently come down to, if someone is able to do it and the price seems decent enough, I just have it done

have been strung along so many times which have caused me to abandon mods

They arent supplying any material. Its literally just for shop time. Supposedly they charge for the complexity of a design and the amount of time taken to cut. The panels are 1mm sheet metal I think - but the shop thinks it may be something else.

I would have loved to tried DIY - but I dont have the time or the tools to get it done properly and neatly.

hmmmmm

is your design like the ones you posted above?

but that looks to me like just a few big hex patterns and that inside looks to be separate mesh, so what "complexity"?

should actually give me your design and details that I see what that place in CPT would have charged

Its pretty much a hex outline and a 2nd hex outline in the middle. I thought the same - pretty simple. But considering that I couldn't find anyone to do the work after emailing about 10 places - Aqua-jet has found themselves a new customer...
Pm me your email address and Ill gladly send it to you.
