Kind folks, I am trying to round up all the motorcyclists for a track day outing at the beautiful red star raceway. The date we have in mind is Saturday 29 May, as this is a bike only day.

The idea behind this is for carbies that want to experience their bikes in its natural habitat, and go faster (legally) than the national speed limit in a safe controlled environment to get together, hang out, compare notes, and laugh at @PandaAttack1 for only rolling on the gas once his bike is upright.

The day is always divided up in classes, from A group for the knee dragging Marquez pretenders, to a C, or if there are enough bikes a D, with absolute novices wanting bragging rights to say they were on a track and now have no chicken strips.
Additionally there are ALWAYS trackside marshals, and paramedics on standby to help should things go too sideways or you feel like having a lay down in the grass.
There is also marshals at hand on the track to go around and show you lines, and make sure people play safely. If we can put together a decent group I should be able to arrange a few marshals just for our group.

Now down to the meat of it.
Its R900 for a full track day. you can register and fill your indemnity online at Red Star Raceway BE SURE TO CHOOSE THE TESTING TAB under activity! (COVID).
A roadworthy CLEAN (looking at @PandaAttack1 again) motorcycle, free of leaks, with good tires would be a must, a full tank of fuel would also be great. There is a total just a bit further down the N12 where you can refuel, additionally, if you indicate soon enough, I can bring up to 50L extra fuel, which you will of course pay me for :D
A helmet, jacket, gloves, jeans and shoes are required. For the paramedic within me, I would like to ask you do not attend this in tekkies. (i can post pictures if you ask me why not).
We can all meet up at redstar at 8am, do registration, sort out groups and do riders briefing, and the first session usually starts at around 9:30.
If you pay for the full day you will get 6 20 minute sessions, which is MORE than enough track time trust me.

The track accepts cards, and there is a restaurant on site that sells everything from popcorn to pizza's.There is also a gear shop, so bring pocket money.
NO Alcohol will be allowed before, or during the day, but there is a bar if you want to have a cold one afterwards.

For more information or if you have any questions, please reach out here, additionally if you are not yet part of our marry band of misfits WhatsApp group, please indicate you want to be added.

Looking forward to enjoying the day with you!

How long is the track because I get tired from pedaling after about 2km.

Ja nee kyk... bottle and throttle have never mixed...

What are the rules around "spectators"/"friends"/"pit crews"?

I need to see if my kit still fits me... #lockdownlyfie #lockdownhasNotbeenkind

they dont REALLY allow spectators in, but if someone sneaks you in as pitcrew you should be fine

Meh... they'll probably notice my wife and 1.5 year old toddler waffling around... lol.

Don't want to get there and have them be like "either they go home or you all do" especially because we live down in the vaal.

I think I must try get to midvaal and see if my kiddo freaks out with the bike and track sounds.

nea to be fair if you are riding wife and kids are fine, everyone brings their clan along

Hmmm. Maybe I should still try a midvaal since it's 15mins from me... that way if kiddo freaks out because of the loud sounds and stuff I don't lose R900 and have to travel 140km home "early". We haven't gone out a lot with him since he was born as he was prem and then it was lockdown.

Count me in! My 1299 was washed within the last month so I will be fine thank you very much.
