Carbie Car Guys!

Hi gents,

Current:
2011 E90 330d
S/W, downpipe and Alpina gearbox flash
Upgraded door speakers and a 12" woofer.

On a nice cold day she really struggles to put the power down.

230kw and 700nm

Currently only have a carbon M4 style spoiler and an M3 style bumper that still needs to be sprayed. Planning on doing Meth and Hybrid soon
Pretty much Ditto for me, just need to get the gearbox flash done.

I see @BillyBob posting 100-200 times, quite impressed that the diesel is not too far behind the S7

You wont regret getting it done bud. Im actually thinking of going with a stage 2 or 3 xHP flash, apparently it shifts a bit quicker than the Alpina flash. But still need to do some research on it. But so far I am thoroughly enjoying the torque

Yes! 13b Renesis is terrible. Mazdas biggest mistake. The fd³ in the RX7 - now that's a bulletproof rotary.
What about the MZR disi 2.3l Mps, also very strong motors! Just carbon build-up issues.. oh and vvt belts ;/. Other than that great motors

Car dropped off at Millennium 7 for new DP and exhaust... I haven't been so excited for a purchase in a long, long time!

Got my car back, I am so happy! I recommend them to anyone looking to do an exhaust.

What was the cost, if you don't mind?
My Fiesta was around 12k with the Arko tip friend.

Let's ask here for some advice.

Soo I has a ford ecoboost engine. 2.0L one if that helps any.
Is it capable of getting some decent performance boosts from "upgrading"?

I Think upgrading the basics at first would indeed help. Stage 1 basically. Induction, Downpipe/Decat, mapping . Already makes a big difference

What car is this bud? Focus ST?

as mentioned above.. downpipe/decat, intake and a software tune will help the car tremendously.
If you want to go further you can look at things like intercoolers, meth install, hybrid turbo. etc

Nothing of the sort. xD
Ford Fusion. Big ass sedan. Specs say either 149kw or 177kw depending on which one it is. I suspect that is the 149kw is the trend which is what I have.
That is a beast of a car dude.
To get the most of it I would follow the following path:

Stage 1:
1. Software - tune. (Great initial investment, as this will see the most gains by far with any stage 1- 2 modification.)
2. Intake. (Car will rev more freely, throttle response will be better and you might get some gentle psssh and intake noises.)
3. Downpipend decat. (A more freeflowing exhaust system is great for a turbo car. The removal of the catalytic converter and providing a larger outlet from the turbo is the first step in this system.)

Stage 2:
1. Intercooler. Having cooler air into your motor is always beneficial. A larger intercooler is necessary when you want to make more power. Your limiting factor at this point is heat. You cannot push your fuelling and timing more without cooling the air going into your motor. The intercooler acts like a heat exchanger, giving the air time to cool down.

2. Meth Kit. Watermeth is awesome for keeping intake temps down. Again, the cooler the air going into the motor, the more fuel and timing we can push without detonation. A fine mist of methanol and water mixture is sprayed into your intake, cooling the air down instantly.

3. Revised software tune. It is time to make use of your new intercooler and watermeth by pushing the software side.

Your restrictions will then come from a unoptimised manifold or other hardware related restrictions. Usually at this point people opt for a hybrid (direct replacement turbo) that spools more efficiently with a slightly larger core, and thus makes more power.

The other option is to now do a big turbo conversion. Usually involves a new intake manifold, downpipe, oil feed lines to the turbo and new wastegate. You will know when you get to this point.

Personally I think you would do great with an intake and a stage 1 tune. Not many monies, and the car is going to feel significantly faster and more responsive.

Stage 1 sounds appealing and relatively simple and easy. Or rather cheaper to do.
What would a "tune" cost? It would be nice to have the car go a bit better. Not that I'm complaining, In sport it's a little bit more reactive in general. I've been all cool and badass by showing them little polo GTIs that they can't compete ;)
Not that I want to race it, It's nice and comfy.

Mapping is usually between 3-4K depending on where you go

Syndicate Performance: ~R4500.00 (I have a stage 2 with them.)
Revo: ~R7000.00

There are a few other companies, just be mindful as the ford's are rather sensitive when it comes to software.

7K just for the mapping? o_O

Got Sideswiped a week before lockdown so I FInally got my ride back last week. 2nd gear bear blew and that was another 10 K plus 9.5 for wheels and 8500 for tires. Hybride mod is slipping further in the further ON the plus side the whole left side of the car looks friend new

Those wheels look great on the Golf!!

Quick question on something I never really understood. You spent a lot of time and money into getting your 1.4 faster, would it not have been around the same cost to pick up a GTI? Then you get all the suspension performance, reliability etc as well? Or do you enjoy the 1.4 and culture that comes with it?

BUY THE GTI
