Have not driven in a month and thought today we take her out … and it’s raining … yes it’s on a trickle charger

I just got my first toy. Gas is super heavy though.

Managed to get a 2016 V6 Jaguar F-Type from a friend
These are awesome and I say you bought the right one!
I may be crazy but I prefered the V6s over the V8 in real world conditions.

I've been thinking of getting a cover myself, but I can be a bit lazy when it comes to admin like this and will probably use it once and forget about it.

Considering the car sits more than anything I figured let me get a cover and was lucky to snag a brand new one from a Cape Town guy (needle in a haystack find) … saved me a good couple of R1000 compared to Porsche pricing … but no dust this way … this cover is easy to put on

Also... I’m 18 and it’s a new car to me and a new hobby, let me experiment and learn and do dumb shit. It makes me happy, anything I don’t like = I undo. Unless it’s accidentally cutting up my front grill... In that case I’m stuck with it

Look here Mr Naai, The money spent on your ricer could have helped you buy a proper sports car in the future.

The v8 is 100% for those who like to drive one to two times a month because it drinks gas
Depends on the V8 and your foot. Consumption in mine isn't that bad at all when feathered. Then again, you don't buy a V8 if you're worried about fuel.

This always reminds me of the following;

“How long have you been smoking for?” the colleague asks.

“Thirty years,” says the smoker.

“Thirty years!” marvels the co-worker. “That costs so much money. At a pack a day, you’re spending $1,900 a year. Had you instead invested that money at an 8% return for the last 30 years, you’d have $250,000 in the bank today. That’s enough to buy a Ferrari.”

The smoker looked puzzled.

“Do you smoke?” he asked his co-worker.

“No.”

“So where is your Ferrari?”

As promised my new project car Black Megane R26 number 1619
I like to do preemptive repairs on cars too, so stuff wasn’t necessarily broken or bad I just prefer doing it my way.

Got it about two+ months ago and sent it straight to Paul at RS Tuning
Stage 2 RS Tuning Software
Replaced every mounting point in the car (engine, gearbox etc)
Upgraded to 18t turbo
Decat ( importing exhaust still)
Solid flywheel + clutch kit + slave cylinder
630cc injectors
Forge Intercooler
Forged engine with Wossner Pistons n bearings ,PEC rods, ARP bolts
Forge Recic valve + Forge Actuator
Hel braided break lines
Replaced all suspension arms
Cup suspension ( new springs still coming from overseas so old ones in for now)

I think that’s all but I’m probably missing a thing or two.
I’m busy with the interior now
Leather boys in centurion did my steering wheel in alcantara and perforated leather
Roof lining and pillars in black
Door cards
Gear boot

List of things to do interior still include
All plastics on interior done in black ( not gloss not matte )
Exterior respray and remove all small dents and scratches
Rims and wing mirrors respray in dull copper
Full wax and polish
Redo r26 numbered plaque to look new
Gear knob

What is this amateur noob hour. My car has 75 mods on it.

I have more unfitted parts in my garage than in your list. gauntlet thrown.

More seriously

Nice pics. I love the colour and that specific model.

Please post pics of the seats.

My build

I get a lot of grief for driving a "womans" car (and I anticipate more once I post this), but I bought this from my cousin recently for close to 50% of what they're going for 2nd hand. 2010 1.4 16V with 60k on the clock. Parts are shockingly expensive and it's an absolute bitch to work on, but i've been having an absolute blast, practically a road legal go kart, would love to try out the Abarth one day.

I read somewhere that the Dodge Dart 2.4l motor is basically a bolt on swap in the Fiat 500 😂 , so maybe one day it will become a nice little sleeper project.

Planning on getting some decent 17" rims and doing a muffler delete in the near future.

Sure bud, will take and post later, seats i have not redone as of yet, still originals with little to no wear which is impressive for this gen of Recaro

I test drove an abarth a couple months ago, have always loved them and still do, they are great to drive, small and fun.
However i have never been able to chat to an owner about maintenance.

Although i have only had renault sports for the past 8 or so years so i assume pricing to be around the same.
