So, I built myself a little ITX two months ago and I was happy with the results, so I built my wife one...
The problem is I got an ASRock Fatal1ty B450 Gaming-ITX/ac motherboard with an AMD Ryzen 3 3100.
The first time I ordered, Wootware got their techs to update the BIOS (something I wasn't aware needed to be done - the person who was processing my order went ahead and sorted it all out. 10/10 Wootware!). Everything worked like a charm.

This time around, I suspect they didn't update the BIOS. I only remembered to ask them if they had done it when the parcel was out on delivery and the response was a "it should be fine, let us know if you have a problem".
Well, I do now! PC lights up for a bit, then restarts, rinse repeat.

Anyone in Cape Town got a 2nd Gen Ryzen that I can borrow tomorrow? I need to flash the BIOS and get this machine up and running so my wife can attend a meeting and work Monday morning. >_<

What are you trying to POST with?

B450 and Ryzen 5000? All we know from your post is your previous experience.

Sorry about the lack of clarity, I was pretty finished by the time I posted.
Both builds are using the same mobo and CPU, so both using ASRock Fatal1ty B450 Gaming-ITX/ac motherboard with an AMD Ryzen 3 3100.

I'm assuming I need to get hold of a 2nd gen Ryzen, because AMD ships the board without 3rd gen support (see here for AMD's instructions).

Got hold of a compatible CPU, flashed the BIOS, all systems go! (Except USB ports.... Windows 7 is no longer supported on these newer components and thus USB ports aren't functional. Apparently there is a patched Windows 7 installer, but I won't be testing that as I'm installing Linux. Just a heads up to anyone who runs into this issue.)
