Can anyone please help me with a router purchase.

I'm thinking of getting a 50Mbps fibre line for the household, I have an Asus DSL-AC55U. However, when I wanted to complete the purchase it was indicated to me that a special router will need to be purchased that is capable of handling 50Mbps (one provided only 50Mbps with cable). Thus I want to know if the Asus DSL-AC55U will be able to handle the 50Mbps line? And if so, how does one go around making sure the router you have can handle the speed?

The free router only handles 40Mbps over Wifi and the entire household is currently running with Wifi and no cables. I would like to make use of the full 50Mbps speed if I'm going to pay for it.

Any assistance will be appreciated

Get a Ubiquiti Edge Router X. Can do 100Mbps AFAIR. Not sure on the Asus you mentioned. What router do they provide you with? Best to have a dedicated router and then a separate wifi AP like a Ubiquiti Unifi. Currently, I use a Asus DSL14u as my router/dhcp server on a 100Mbps line and it works pretty well, but the QoS is not great. Got a Mikrotik which I'll be using as the router soon enough.
