Hi Guys

Am considering purchasing from Gearbest, has anyone had any issues with them?

I would like to know which shipping method Carbonites use from the below and how accurate they are

Registered Air Mail 15-28 business days R89.61

Priority Line 7-15 business days R117.75

Expedited Shipping 3-8 business days R303.28

It depends on how much you want to pay, but never go for unregistered. I've had issues finding my parcel with it, but fortunately it came out each time after about 8 - 10 months (yup, that long). So, at least registered, but as you pay more for the better ones you get better service. Personally, I would recommend Priority Line in your case unless you want it before Christmas, because even when they say 15 days it may be longer.

Use priority line, I haven't had any issues so far buying from GB.
Some users have had problems but personally I haven't.

Priority Line is shipped via Aramex.
Expedited is shipped via DHL.

In my experience DHL tend to be a bit quicker, but I have never actually shipped via DHL from Gearbest. Keep in mind it takes Gearbest a few days to package the parcel and then for the courier company to come and collect - if there are stock issues (a lot of this at the moment) then it gets delayed even further. Gearbest are good in the sense that if there are stock issues on a larger order they tend to ship what is available and when the remainder become available will ship that too - at no extra charge... If you take DHL or Aramex, it isn't always pleasant though due to customs clearance. With SA Express (Buffalo) it works pretty well.

I also recommend taking the insurance for peace of mind - I have had an item or two arrive damaged (was shipped via registered post and had to collect from SAPO) and Gearbest had no issues sorting me out.
