So I'm considering (already started applying for finance) buying said car and can get it for R120k from a friends mother. Said car has mostly (well almost exclusively ) down in-town mileage.

Good deal, bad deal? Car is basically in showroom condition

I have a 2017 Titanium. Only difference between this one and the Ambiente is just features. In terms of the engine and the mechanical aspects of it, it's not bad for a cheap-ish hatchback. Ticked over to 40 000 kilometres today. Bought it brand spanking new. Never had any issues with it, other than Park Ford in Vanderbijlpark scratching my steering well when it went for a service (which they fixed after the manager realised that they are not going to bullshit me).

It is not the most powerful car ever, but I did a 4000 km with my now fiance in November 2020 and had no issues passing the plethora of trucks on the N1.

Long story short, great car. Driving with a light foot, I can get 17.5 km per litre. Price wise I haven't really seen what they are worth in that condition with so few kilometres, but just from a quality point of view, I'm happy with it.

That price is in line with a 2017 but the mileage sweetens the deal, just take it on the highway and hit it at 140km/h for 100km or so. Daai oukie is lekker lui gery as jy my vra :)

Just organize a lekker road trip with a wife or pop and revive it.

It's a good car so you can't go wrong there.

Lol if you don't take it, let me know, I'll gladly take it off her hands

Currently the markets are quite fucked to be honest, with that kind of mileage I wouldn't be surprised to see prices of R150k for a 2017 Figo. The used market really changed a lot after covid.

Do not even hesitate.
